Title: Why do I have so many animals?
Post by: skypurr on January 02, 2013, 18:58:15
Been rather busy lately, so haven't posted much, but have some spare time so am back here for now!

Back in November I decided to sort out my animal collection - I was amazed at how many I had collected.  8}  How I came to have so many I don't know, other than that for a couple of years I had planned to make a safari park/zoo so most were bought as part of lots and just put into a tub tubs until I needed them.  :-[

I found that I didn't even use them all in my safari park/zoo display last year so I decided that some a few can go, so I'll be listing them on ebay.

I thought I'd take some photos of them first.  Unfortunately they are not too good as someone had changed the settings on my camera.  ???

Here are just the wild/zoo animals, I have another tub full of domestic animals;  cats, dogs, farm and wildlife such as deer, foxes etc.  not the mention the birds and the tub of horses I have too!  Actually I found another couple of bison and some bears later plus 20 reindeer in the Christmas box! and I've since bought 2 mountain goats.  :)

I really must stop buying what I don't need

(If anyone is interested I'll post a link to the ebay listings I have in the shopping/auction section - I'm also selling some knights and a magic tree plus other things.)

Seems like a perfectly normal amount to me.
It looks like you have two different colors of the baby croc/green lizard? I only have the lighter one listed on my site. I don't see anything on PlaymoDB about it either. Just a batch variation?? Any idea where the darker looking ones may have come from?

I've checked my ebay buys Tim and as far as I can work out, the one on the right
(the jade green looking one) was just bought as a lot of 3 small green lizards while the one on the left (the more olive green one) came with this set

Which one are you missing as I'm sure I can spare one for your collection!

Most of those could be used for many wonderfull projects, as far as I can tell you might only have more crocodiles and lions than might be used in a set up with them.

Never hurts to have enough of a type of group animals to make a small herd.  :)

Exactly!

A small herd of crocodiles, a small herd of hippos, a small herd of rhinos... a small herd of dragons, a small herd of dinos...

It would be the olive one on the left that I don't have. Hmmm looking at that I wonder if it's in the 7894 add on. I've only had the regular sets but looking at the add-on photo they do look like the darker green there. I will pick a set up when the new add-ons come available and I am placing my order. If it turns out to not be it I will let you know.

Yes, it really makes sense to have multiples of herding animals. I'm still working on herds of zebras and wildebeests, and would love to have many more bison. I've got enough giraffes and almost enough elephants. I just wish I had a zebra for every horse I've got!

I always say the more animals one has the better, this also applies to trees

Trees are one of those things I've never gotten around to buying but really should.

I thought I was never going to get enough trees to have even one in every exhibit. Now I look back on that and just laugh! Somewhere along the line they started multiplying on their own I think.

I just do not see how you could part with any of them.

I don't want to part with any of them really, but I need money to buy extra things for this year's exhibition so I don't really have a lot of choice and it does make more sense to sell off some of the things I don't really need  :(

Pls share your listing.... Would love to see what you put up on ebay

I had put a link in the shoppings and auctions section, but here it is again

I've listed other items too, and will list more over the weekend.
