Title: Unknown Crown
Post by: skypurr on January 01, 2013, 22:03:17
I have been looking through some figures I bought a while ago and found this crown.

It doesn't belong to any of the klickies I bought and a search of crowns on Playmo DB doesn't show it.
Does anyone know which set it is from?
It is a beige colour and fits an adult klicky.

In that color, could be an ancient silver one that lost it's "shine"... (there are pink and yellowish cav swords like that..)

Looks equal to one that goes on top of a gold chalice thing on treasures - but that one is new gold, so wouldn't be that color.

100% (give or take 1%) sure that is the ancient silver crown as tahra suggests

You would think that there would be some sign of gilt on it, either that or someone did a nice job of cleaning it up.  At any rate it is a beautiful crown, Elaine and a neat find!

No, I think we have stuff completely without the silver, and we never cleaned it...

I would say like Tahra says. But I wouldn't be sure until Master Panos has spoken (demi-god of unknown parts!)

I do not know, Damo is quite the part id contender ... perhaps a round of ID extravaganza  ;)

I'm almost 100% sure its the silver crown thats lost its gilt, like has already been suggested :)

The gilt ones I have are all either this beige colour or red underneath

Damo :)

It is definately a Playmbil crown; the very first "male" type to be more precise.
(sets 3130, 3131, 3138, 3261-v1 and 3331-v1 from 1974-1975)

In 1976 the shape was changed; it then included in the middle the bulbous part of the 1st knight-helmet. (see f.e. 3331-v2)

Finally remembered to take a pic when I was at home:

The first two crowns are from a kid or the treasure chalice.. Then that's the one you have (I think), ancient, and a few more ancient ones (and a helmet) in several degrees of losing their shine..

Thank you for all the suggestions.
It is very like the third one from the left - with six points, but the colour is so even that it is almost as though it is meant to be like that.  It is a different colour from the ones that have the silver coming off - more of a pinkish beige really - I'll see if I can find anything of the same colour to compare it with.
