Hello all,
This year, after a hiatus of a year, at the insistence of my children, I once again set up a Christmas-themed train around the tree. Much of it will be familiar to those who have seen pictures of it before, but I have added a few new cars to the mix...
Enjoy! and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The rear half of the train... Next year I will have to make a larger track so I can make a longer train!
-
And though technically not train-related, here is my Nativity, around which the train tracks run. Some detail shots as well as some overview.
-
And the last ones. Hope you like them. (Next year, I will definitely add some more Romans! At the very least... ;))

Merry Christmas, Henry!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful Christmas display! It's really a marvelous treat to be able to visit your home (through the magic of the internet) on this Christmas Day!
Your Christmas train is such great fun! Santa's elves seem to really be enjoying their work ... ;)
All the best of holiday wishes to you, my friend, and to your family from all of us here in the US Virgin Islands,
Richard

Great stuff as usual, thanks for posting it Cap'n. I really like the sleigh car and reindeer car

Thank you all! It was a LOT of fun to put together. Even when my children's Gi Joes hijacked the train and there was a lot of carnage! :D The saddest part is taking it down. If it were up to me, the Christmas decorations would be up all year - but the Captain's wife takes issue with that. :D
Also, my kids picked one of the Roman soldiers to be Herod, and he and his men tried to attack the baby Jesus, leading to a huge battle between the shepherds and wise men (or as my son calls them: the frankincense manager, the myrrh manager and the gold manager) on one side and the Romans on the other! (Yes, at the Captain's house almost everything ends up being a battle! And that's just the way we likes it! Arrrr!)
I am leaving for Florida tomorrow on business, and have already been instructed to stop at one (or both!) of the Funparks and see if they have any of the Romans already in stock. Apparently they need reinforcements. Those sheep are deadly. ;)
how old are kids ?
Daughter is 8 (Sirena on the board) and son is 5 (Merboy).
I hope all of you have a terrific New Year, and that it is filled with blessings for each of you (and some blue boxes too!).
