The Playmo-Town ferry is making it's daily trip to Rockport island, a mere kilometre away. Today, many passengers have boarded, including a world-famous tennis playing duo, two vacationers, and other various people. The ferry is small, and only has room for small cars, bikes, motorcycles and of course, pedestrians. No cars are on board today, though, leaving deck A open for the passengers to roam.

The captain is busy in the wheelhouse, navigating the treacherous rocks and making sure the ferry doesn't run aground in the shallow waters.

As evening approaches, fog settles low over the ocean. The lookout, positioned on the bow, scans the horizon ahead. His eyes inspect a dark form a few metres away. His eyes widen - he realizes he is staring at jagged rocks. "Rocks, dead ahead!!" he shouts.

The captain does his best to avoid the stones ahead, but the ship collides with them, knocking two curious passengers over.

The hum of the engines suddenly stops and the captain comes to investigate. "Go downstairs to the hold. Update me on the water level. Now!" the captain instructs a crew member.

The crew members reaches the hold and finds himself standing in a puddle of water. While he is still safe, he secures important baggage and returns to the deck to update the captain. The captain orders him downstairs once again and the crew member determines that it is not safe to remain their any longer. He hastily retreats to the captain and informs him that the water level is increasing steadily.

Meanwhile, passengers are beginning to panic and some prepare to jump overboard upon discovering no lifeboats onboard the ferry.

With each second, the slant on the deck becomes ever more noticeable.

Will the ship manage to stay afloat and reach safety or will she sink in the chilly waters?

No lifeboats? Hopefully they can get some sort of signal to the island or the mainland before the ship sinks (if it does).
-
Its the titanic, but in a smaller scale! :o
I really enjoy this story PlaymoMan! :)
"Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it..." Winston Churchill.

   Bravo! Great story again. We'll just have to see if this is going to be titanic, a "heroic" captain who abondons his ship, or .........
-
Very nice story and pictures for one more time, congrats.
George.

Great story so far! :)9 how did you do the fog? looked really good.
-
Oh, I can't wait to see more! Funny, I've been planning my own ferry diaster photo story using this set! Mine is a different scenario, though.

Looks very good and yet frightening :o That's my worst nightmare!
-
great story so far! I hope those unfortunate clickies will be resqued. :)

Great stoyr can't wait to see what happens, love the photos in the hold of the water rising :)

Thanks everybody! Sorry about the dark pictures towards the end, I intended to make it look like it was nighttime, although looking at those photos now I see they didn't turn out very well. :-\
Great story so far! :)9 how did you do the fog? looked really good.
Thanks PlaymoZoo! I made the fog by breathing on the lens of my camera.
No lifeboats?
Yeah, I thought it was a bit silly of Playmobil to release a passenger ship without any sort of lifeboat, let alone life jackets! I plan on making my own lifeboats this weekend, so hopefully on the ferry's next voyage, she'll be properly equipped.

Well done! Although modern time is not my favourite theme, I love exciting stories and made with Playmobil makes them even better! Can't wait to see what's next!

Much to the relief of the passengers, the fog disappears and the extent of the damage becomes clear to the captain.

Seeing that there is no time to lose, the captain summons up a crew member and orders him to abandon ship, along with all the other passengers onboard. Before leaving, the crew member asks if any ships have responded to the distress calls sent. "One" the captain replies. "They're coming as quickly as possible."
The slant is so extreme now that passengers are having trouble gaining a strong footing anywhere on the ferry.
Hearing the order to abandon ship, the passengers jump overboard into the chilly waters near the ferry.
Water now pours in through the starboard windows and the ship begins her final plunge.
Once the water has a large passage into the boat, the ferry capsizes and begins to sink on a vertical angle.

With a large whoosh, the ferry sinks, leaving nothing but debris and soaked passengers.

Will the passengers manage to find a rescue ship, or will they be stranded in the ocean?

Great story so far. I really like how you've used the plastic for the water, it looks great. I wonder what happened to the first two knocked overboard? It doesn't seem like the crew even realized they were missing.

Great story with very nice scenes. I can't wait for the next part.
