Hello again,I have some questions about LYRA.
1)When were the first LYRA sets produced in Greece? One uncle of me,who is now 40 years old, remembers,as a child, his first playmobil sets not to be LYRA,but another brand, and to have the first LYRA sets in 1978.
2)When LYRA stopped producing playmobil? The set 3771 which was released by Geobra in 1987-1988 was released also by LYRA (as my cousin remembers he bought this set in 1989 and it was LYRA).But why other sets released at the same period in Germany (such as 3770,3769) did not released by LYRA too?
3)LYRA NEW,and also LYRA buckets, did they start to be producing after the closing of LYRA?I remember in Greek kids magazines of 1994-1996 that promoted the buckets and LYRA NEW sets such as 8001,8002,8004,8005,8006,8008 as new products.
4)And what about sets with codes L (not starting with 3L, but these ones with 1L,2L,4L,5L,6L,7L,8L).Never had I seen these in Greek market.

I just always wanted to know why the quality was so bad

The quality of LYRA was excellent, same with Geobra, but the quality of LYRA NEW was bad!Generally LYRA all years was creating many spare parts and some which were defective, were excluded from the original series. Then LYRA NEW used all leftover parts, even though they were defective, and created LYRA NEW,and some LYRA sets with L (except for 3L which was at high quality).
Does anyone know some of my questions?Maybe someone who was collecting LYRA sets as a child.

We never had lyra sets here and even when Mattel made a few playmoibl sets in the US it did not last long.
I guess there is so much bad press about the quality. I just use the default that it is all bad. Better safe than sorry. It too bad really as there are a few other licenced manufactures who produce classic playmobil, Argentina comes to mind with the western houses

Is not anyone from Greece who knows all this information?

I'm sorry to say this but the quality of Lyra was terrible. In 1999 I bought two Lyra sets in a small shop on the Island Rhodes: a small ambulance and a union cavalry set. The ambulance set was the best with a good quality car but with bad klickies. But then the union soldiers, almost every single part was made of that poor cheapo plastic you often find in made in china sets. Lots of molding residu, faint colors, bat fitting hats, not what you'd expect from a legendary toy brand, it was consequently my only experience with Lyra after that experience.
