Can anybody tell me when the Hotel Theme is expected to hit the U.S.? Thanks!
-
It hit the german market September of 2012, so if it goes by the regular schedule, it will come here to the US in September 2013. :( A very long wait. There's always a chance that Toys R Us will get it early though, and that could be early next year I believe. They always get a couple of themes early.

Thanks bb! I just don't think I can wait another year!
Luckily there's someone selling the entire theme on ebay. This does not include the extension floor or add-on furnishings. It does include the penthouse, van, maid service, bellhop and disco (which seems very polly pocket to me).
I guess I'll have to test my restaint. We'll see how that goes!
-
Yeah, you'll probably overpay for it if you get it early, but for some themes it's worth it! Btw, I agree that disco thing is really silly. :hmm:

I haven't looked at that set before, and I don't collect modern theme sets, but it looks sort of cool to me. Not quite a Diskothek because it's apparently a children's version, but it's still an interesting idea for a set.

Whilst I like the idea of this theme, Geobra are sorely disappointing me by introducing "girl' sets in pastel colours. We have Fisher Price for that . :hmm:

I agree completely.

Yes I know, me too. A pink roof? Come on now!
-
Red would have been nice.
-
I'm going to paint the roof pieces, and possibly the beds. The uniforms will have to stay dark pink though.

Yeah, I totally agree. I have been hoping for a hotel theme and initially I was very happy about these new sets, although my enthusiasm for them is starting to disappear. The pink walls, roofs and furniture really limit the possibility of scenarios that can be created with this theme. :(

If it werent pink, they would have gotten more sales from it. Boys would be ridiculed by other children for wanting girly looking playmobil, dads might be reluctant to buy it for their sons, etc.
While in fact its a theme that could appeal equally to both boys and girls.
Personly I'd love to see a playmobil version of "the cocoanuts" using the hotel, including clickies that look like the marx brothers. :)

Just pretend it's in Miami!

Yes, good idea!

they are not only in Miami
here are just a few examples in California
the pink lady (http://www.lavalencia.com/)
madonna inn (http://www.madonnainn.com/)

The pink color might push away some customers, but I think it's a great theme.
I could see a scene with a diplomate and a hostage situation. Call in the Top Agents to the rescue!

It would have gone over great in the US about 5 years ago, when "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody" was big on the Disney channel.

Yup, that show was a hit down here.
