I think I have too much topics in "what is this???", so sorry to bother you again...
... but I've just bought a bunch of white mise
(http://i1175.photobucket.com/albums/r624/PlaymoZoo/hair009_zps6f588fce.jpg)
But then I found THIS:
It looks like a glow in the dark mouse, but as far as I know it simply doesn't glow in the dark.

So sorry for all the questions and bad pictures, but anyone an idea?

Cool!! Just looks like it didn't get the right ratio of white pellets... but what a lucky buy... I wish I had some white mice :)

 How cute!

They use a plain translucent white plastic to clean the molding machines between colors. This may be one of the first mice out of the machine when it was set up for the show. Here is a photo showing a discards bin at the Playmobil factory in Dietenhofen, you can see they were switching from red to green koalas so cleaned out the machine between them.

Wow that's a cool photo Tiermann interesting think to learn, those whtie mice look really great Playmozoo :)

What an awesome find!!!! I think Tim must be right about what it is. Btw, great picture.

Are those discards usually re-melted?

Any waste is either re-used in the factory or sold to outside companies for recycling.

I suppose that's good to know.
-
I wonder if it's through the outside recycling companies that these things sometimes get out. Like maybe some worker sees a clear horse and thinks it pretty and brings it home to their kid or something.
-
That's a cool find! :o
I want to get some white mice eventually, but they're pretty rare over here.
-
Nice collection of white mice. I have never seen a clear mouse and it must be quite rare. The way Tim described the cleansing (ha ha, individual joke... spread the love Nick) of the machines I am sure not many are out there.
If they do this cleansing of the machines I wonder why all sorts of things have not shown up? I want clear animals, all of them. I think they would make great animal spirits in a picture or diorama. Even clear plants and trees would be very interesting.
It only took geobra 40 years to give us a clear klicky, though we are still waiting for it in the US

We are? I have series 3 already, through Tim.

Not in our area, either slow shipments or slow store owners :-\ I did not participate with you guys as I like an excuse to go shopping with the kids ;) especially to the toy store ;D I also have figured out that I have a little guy who has a 99% track record in figuring out the figures, and I am talking about 100's of bags 8} He really loves the challenge
-
See, they don't like money. They could sell it to us instead of recycle. Bet they'd get more...
-
There wouldn't be any kind of consistent quality to these pieces, since they are simply the product of a cleaning rinse. If they were to sell them, it could affect their reputation for consistent quality.
-
They would flood the market with rejects. I would probably find it annoying to have to inspect every auction to see if they were there or not.
I bet they have truck loads of things headed to the grinders. Do they use 3rd party companies to sort out the different colored items? You would think Geobra would capitalize them selfs if it was easy.
-
Nice pic and white mice-collection! :)
I have only grey mice, not a single white one :(
@ Geobra:
I'd be happy to take any (transparant or not) hull or deck from when the machines were cleaned before or during production of pirates'ships
-
Thank you all for the reactions, I had no idea of all those clear playmo's! and that's a cool pic, Tiermann :thanks:
Happy (and lucky) I've found that mouse! I've never seen anything like it before. Maybe it was accidentally given away at one of those white mise demonstrations.
Anyone knows about clear playmo's that haven't been re-used? Or maybe someone over here has one?
