Some of you may have wondered why I didn't post photos of my Hogwarts display from Kirkbean this year, but having showed it last year and earlier this year at Knaresborough I didn't expect anyone would want to see it again.
However there were a few bits that I changed that I thought improved it so here are some pics of those.
(If anyone who hasn't seen them wants to see photos of Hogwarts from Knaresborough earlier this year, here is a link to that

and to pics of the staff and pupils

First difference was the addition of extra towers
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts20.jpg)
and a few additions to the tops of the towers
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts37.jpg)
Can you spot the Mirror of Erised behind Dumbledore?(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts32.jpg)
and I gave Professor Snape a different face
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts31.jpg)
I added an new gateway and an extra bridge
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts14.jpg)
...leading over to a new route down to Hogsmeade - made in the same way as the base that the Shrieking Shack stands on
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts12.jpg)
The only other change was the layout of Hogsmeade with the station at the opposite end from where it previously was, to make it near to the lake and the boats - alas no giant squid this time because Junior took it for his underwater display  ::)
and if you look closely you can see Madame Puddifoot's tearoom (behind the owl post office) with the window frame now painted brown to match the brickwork on the walls, which I think looks better than the blue it was before
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts4.jpg)
Oh, and I painted the door of the shrieking shack
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts15.jpg)
I also managed to put chimneys in each of the buildings at last, so the inhabitants could all travel by flue powder!
So, that's it
(http://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac300/skypurr/Kirkbean%20Playmobil%20Exhibition%202012/2012Hogwarts2.jpg)
I don't expect I will get the opportunity to build it again  :'(
So, just one question remains:
What else can I do that uses 33 students and over 50 owls?

It's a wonderful display Elaine. Lots of great detailing, and impressive in size. Why would you not be using it again?

				Nice changes and additions! :)

My kids and I always so enjoy looking at the pictures of your Hogwarts display. Harry Potter was a major influence on the expansion of our Playmobil collection, although our set ups have never been anywhere near as spectacular as yours  :)
Your Hogwarts this year is better than ever! Love the details you have added. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures!

Amazing diorama with awesome customs. I can't choose one of them as my favourite. I like all your customs very much.  Excellent job Elaine, congratulations for your wonderful creation. Many thanks for sharing.
Friendly George.

Awesome display - would love to have seen this up close...
I've probably said this before, but the shreeking shack looks soooo good
The woman with the cards, is she miss Trelawny?

Thanks Tim  I'd love to build it again but doubt if I'll have the opportunity unless someone else in the UK decides to hold an exhibition and wants me to bring it along!
Thank you Pynedor, Tenni and George

Thanks Birdie,  I was very pleased with the shrieking shack too, and the base it stands on.
The woman with the cards and crystal ball is indeed Professor Trelawney, I thought she looked better in one of the towers than in the courtyard.   :)

Is there not going to be a Kirkbean Exhibition next year? :-\

Is there not going to be a Kirkbean Exhibition next year? :-\
Yes, but I've done this display at Kirkbean for two years now so I need to think of something different for next year.
I'll probably make  a large castle/medieval town of some sort instead.  Possibly including Gulliver within it - I've got 10 months to plan something new - but I'm open to ideas  :)

A large castle or Medieval town sounds like an awesome idea. I think you'd be able to set up this display too without any problems if you have enough room. I'm sure everyone would love it even if they would have already seen it. :)

				Impressive dio.
Thumbs up.

Just had a look at your other Harry Potter threads great work on the customs that whole setup is so impressive the rocks around the castle really add to the magical look of it and all of the detail inside shows the work of someone who nows the Harry Potter theme well, oh also the green landscape and blue of the lake make it look really good  :)

I think you might add the lake and Harry casting his white stag Patronus with Sirius lying on the shore…and lots of Dementors!
I also think this wonderful set up should travel farther. Why not to France for an exhibition next year?  ;)
