I'm trying to pare down my next order. Which is cooler: this guy http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=7676 or this guy http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=4127 ?
I don't care for pirates, just comparing the two redcoats.
-
The first one is an absolute classic    He's been around since 1990!!! So 22 years is a long time to show how much popular he is!!! I think I have 20 of him. However, he lacks a belt... I have given him a light blue sword belt to match the one coming down his torso.
The other one is also very nice, but I don't like the boots much... I think he is useful for spare parts and customisation.
I think both must be part of ones collection, at least one of each, and stay as they are.
But if you really want to settle for one of them, go for 7676.
-
I actually like the black shoes better than the blue ones, and the lack of a belt is a bit of a downer. But the 1st one has a cape! I want both really, but then again I want so many klickies... Both would help even out the gender ratios in my collection though...
-
You mean you actually have more females than males? :o
-
Maybe it's because most of my stuff is Victorian, so there's a lot of maids. I need some redcoats to date the servant girls ;)
Klicky Count: 39 men, 45 women, 19 boys, 24 girls, 5 babies
-
The second one is a more modern take....better boots and overall design. I just adore it. Though the joint is a bit loose.
-
depends really what u wanna do.. i personal think the second one fits more into the voctorian theme.. like this one
-
Personally, I want ALL the redcoats! But I must control myself.
That guy looks familiar. What's he from?
-
its the oe from the pirate blister.. u asked for opinion.. but not with that helmet
-
They are both cool, but I'd buy the second one if I could only buy one because: it's cheaper and comes with a pirate (which I'm sure you could put to use somewhere!), the black boots are cool, and the black cuffs are a bit rare and nice for customs. :)
-
i think so too. as u could see the body from the second one is way better as the old one with only buttons.. i dont know how much the blister costs in the us but in germany u can get those for 3.79 euro.. redcoat/pirate
-
So, he's a custom? Cute! The pirate/redcoat duo is cheaper here: $3.49, plus the 20% off coupon this weekend.
Pirates aren't allowed in my town. When we were kids, my older sister had the pirate ship and I had the dollhouse and...
-
I much prefer the redcoat in the duo pack. I like his torso, legs, and accessories much more than the other redcoat officer's parts and he can easily be customized into a Victorian soldier if that's your theme. As a bonus, there's the extra pirate, who could arguably be made into a Victorian boyscout. (My wife said that's what he looks like, and I can't disagree. )
I've bought a lot of these duo packs for parts and they're very useful. The redcoat torso is used for my British Napoleonic soldiers, the legs and swordbelt are for my British 18th century soldiers, and the hat is for my 18th century French soldiers. The pirate, sans vest, hair, and hat, is serving as the basis for my 18th century Royal and French Navy sailors.

imagine how our life would become if we can order the silver hair wig from the latest pirate theme....
Maybe we can use the duo pack 5242 which will be out later for the hair piece.

I like the new wigs a lot, but only have one white and one grey one, the latter of which I'm using with the gray mustache head. I would really like a few more of these wigs, especially the white ones, for my governors and high ranking officers. I plan to use the male from 5242 as the basis for one of my governors.
-
$3.49 -20% is a really good price..
-
It is... I, um, bought both. I officially have no self-control :-[ No idea what I'll do with the pirate.

 Get a fleet of galleons and some more mates! ...Or you could take his weapons and make him into a Victorian vagabond.
-
I can't afford a fleet of galleons; I still saving up for the new Victorian set. So, wandering homeless pirate?
-
I only have one ship that I found on sale.
Letting him wander sounds good enough though. Just make sure you let him keep his cutlass! :)

Starting a new theme would be dangerous... and if I were to start a new theme, I'd totally go medieval :knight:

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I've been trying not to buy the new pirates and just stay with Medieval for now (which is the best, so definitely start it!), but the new Western sets are very tempting... :-\

Why wouldn't you be able to order it? There is a DS-service... ;D
And if you don't have access to DS, there is also the more expensive ebay.

Speaking Redcoats, I used the 20% off coupon this weekend to order the newer Redcoat General, the newer three pack Redcoats, the older three pack Redcoats, and the pirate/ redcoat duo pack. Yahhh Redcoats!! They're all nice in my opinion. I really want that powdered wig.
-
I wanted the general and the two trios, but I had to draw the line somewhere. The wigs are snazzy. I'm looking forward to the aristocratic duo.
-
Hmmmmm....... Hard to choose I like both, but why don't you buy both of them?? ??? ???
I actually like the black shoes better than the blue ones
I think if you buy the old version of the classic guy with the white accessories on top of his shows you would prefer him. Theyare more fancy..... ::)

Yes Women are more than men on planet Earth..... 8} 8} 8}
-
I did get both in the end... of course, this means delaying the new Victorian set even longer... :-\
The old set is $30 on Ebay though...
