After reviewing the 4909 and 4910, I wanted some pictures of these set in water. Furthermore, nicest would be under water.
So I made some pics.
I bought a really small aquarium made of plastic, PMMA, Plexiglas, but big enough for the submersible. 8-) In the first picture you see the submersible at the watersurface, note the reflection.

With a little handpump, not visible only the white cable, you can fill the tanks with water and the submersible slowly sinks in the water. The cockpit is watertight, the klicky's stay dry, and the result is the submersible tilts a little backwards.

And some more pics. Maybe in the future I will buy a bigger aquarium and make a nice diorama. Hope you like the pics.

 Great pictures! I've always wanted to set up an aquarium with fish like I used to have and make a playmo diorama in it. I think it would be a lot of fun.

A very successful experiment, Jan!!! You shot some really nice sequence of pictures here!!! Thank you for sharing!! Now I want these sets even more ;D ;D ;D
-
Excellent photos and set up. Like Panos, I'm wanting the submersible set now.
-
Cool setup! I like the rising bubbles in the one picture; they make it look very realistic.
-
I never got the submersible from the first series, it was the only set I didn't get. Now I want it! :hissyfit:

:D Actually, these are waterdroplets on the outside! They do look like air bubbles and it looks great.
Now I've been busy with this set-up, I want to make more aquatic scenery's.
-
It looks great, and its very nice to hear that the clickies are safe inside. ;)

Ah, so they are. ;)

Ok, the review had me more interested than I really ought to be, especially financially speaking, the photo's have turned out really well, the submarine and the diver look really good underwater for real. :)9  I can't speak for the Memsahib but personally, as someone who grew up watching Jacques Cousteau on tv I've always had a fascination with all things underwater and these have given it a nudge, Hmmmmm, the possibilities.......
If somebody can build a klicky Titanic, then maybe we could build a klicky Calypso........
No! stop it! what am I thinking? time, space & money all lacking! other projects to finish first. Thank you for sharing the photo's with us, you've definately started my mind on another theme. :)
-
Excellent review showing the sets in action! I love my submersible from the first series that matches the explorer ship, sea plane, & whale sets!
-
Hey, maybe we could do a klicky remake of "The Abyss" it should be possible to build a System X version of Deep Core given enough parts.............. No! must resist temptation! must concentrate on current themes, must resist starting off new themes... ;D Thanks again for posting the pics :)
-
I do worry a bit about that diver who is floating face down in the water though. ;)
-
Excellent idea with very nice pictures.

Ooh that would be a nice project!! But is it possible to build the ship of the aliens!
Thanks for all the positive comments!
-
Very nice clear photos the Klicky whose fetching the treasre test looks very happy and I like the diver in particular what a cool set :)
-
I think about the only way to represent the alien craft to scale would be to photograph the Deep Core and a couple of ships in an otherwise empty skate park. 8} :loco: :uhoh: :wall: Aaaargh ! I'm thinking about it again ! must stop, must resist!
I really like this theme, seeing the other subs and divers that have been produced gives scope for some big underwater exploration/salvage/treasure hunt photo stories, trouble is that would mean needing a bigger aquarium and I really need to stop thinking about it  Thanks again :)

Do you realise what you have started with these pics? I have actually been seriously thinking about building a klicky calypso ! 8} :loco: ::) I was half asleep the other night searching for the traditional red woolly hats for the divers! I can't even remember if I found any  Considering we don't have a single item from this particular theme (yet!) it really has captured the imagination, and my imagination could get really expensive if let loose. The sea plane could be worked in too, Cousteau had a PBY Catalina flying boat for a while, plus the helicopter with floats for landing on water, and if the much demanded hot air balloon ever got made, he had one of those too, and I seem to remember something about 2 divers disguised as a hippo, now there's a custom job just waiting to be done! 8} Somebody stop me before I go completely overboard! Thanks again for the inspiration ;)

I'll try to fan the embers of your collecting fire a little more Red Watch ;D! I have 2 x 4469 Sea Exploration Ships, that are set up for ship wreck salvage, including the deep sea divers equipped with under water cutting torches, & tools! The possibilities are never ending for us collectors! ;)

And what a great set it is....
-
Yep, could do with at least one of those ;D already got plans to use the boat as an inshore lifeboat and respray the seaplane (or the police one) red and turn it into "Deluge One" the waterbomber, suppose we'd better have one left as is too......... it's starting to snowball ! Bill, that helicopter is just the one I had in mind for Calypso, I think I might just be in trouble here.......... 8}

Oh it gets worse! I keep on having thoughts about the ship, even making it fit in the back of the car! :uhoh: ::) Thought about making it a "Calypso style" ship rather than an accurate model, possibly change the name too, "Neptune" maybe? or maybe "Belafonte" if anybody is familiar with the movie "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" As for the Memsahib, she's worse than I am, then there's Mini-Chief, so what hope have we got? 8} :loco:
