Title: Manchu Bannermen (1898-1901)
Post by: cheng on May 09, 2012, 02:25:33
If I remember correctly, there were 8 Banners (Divisions with their own colours)
the three modernized divisions were equipped with modern Mauser repeater rifles and Krupp Artillery.
but with lack of training,
these Manchu bannermen were annihilated as they fought to the death

Wow, you really made the best out of every transfer I sent you! Still amazed by your helmets…are they painted, or is it some kind of glossy paper?

thanks WK!! :love:

and Arnaud, thanks again and again!
your stickers are really the icing on my soldiers and I'll be dreaming of more possibilities :lol:
..btw, their stiff red hats are not painted, they are also made from the same type of PVC laminates I sent you ;) (just temporary, like my own stickers waiting for yours and these hats are waiting for Geobra to make Asian hats someday...they will..just a matter of time! :)

Great job, cheng! ;)

Just wondering - what got you so into these Eastern cultures?

thanks Pynedor!
...I never stopped to think about this...good question!
now, let me recall....I started with redcoats....then US cavalry...then castles & knights...then ACW....then napoleonics....then I stumbled upon the Boxer Rebellion where I could make 8-nations-allies on one side and Chinese on the other and yet I can put them all together (there are also Sikhs and Indians and so many more uniforms that i could add but of course its not my mission to replicate a complete representation of the Boxer War)
...then extension to Japanese...koreans...mongols because they fought against each other simultanously ;D
well...I still dont know why I'm here :P maybe somebody can tell me :-[...any psychologists here? 8}
