This is my medieval church, I wanted to share it with you. I present it to you in a Sunday morning very early: the priest is preparing everything and waiting for the congregation... Today he is about to talk about psalm 22 :)
I hope you enjoy the pictures

-
 Great photos! The lighting is really well done!
-
Magnificent creation! The details, even the wooden cross are excellent! :)9
-
Well I'm Jewish but, that's sure as heck a mighty fine looking Church and he's got quite a nice congregation, I like it :)
-
This is most excellent!! A steck building    Very well done!!!
-
Excellent custom, photos and lighting and presentation!
-
Very nice! 8-)
Not as big as the work of some cathedral-builders, but very well fitting for a medieval town. :)9
But... I'm missing "someone". ;D
-
Love that building!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
It looks great, and your clickies seem happy with it as well. :)
-
A fabulous custom!
-
Excellent church! Very beautiful! :wow:
You might like to know that in a medieval church
the alter would have been pushed p against the far wall
and the priest would perform the mass in front of it.
That is why they raise the Eucharist over their head when blessing it,
So the whole church can see.
-
Excellent job. Your pictures are beautiful too!
-
A very impressive piece of work, Pirateclick!
The nun on the balcony in the first picture of your third post reminded me of a little balcony in Malmesbury Abbey (see the beginning of the 'virtual tour' at http://www.malmesburyabbey.com/20090122P01%20Malmesbury%20Abbey.html)which was (reputedly) used by the church authorities to keep an eye on the visiting pilgrims, to see they weren't pocketing any church property or relics I presume. Perhaps the nun is keeping an eye on the proceedings here?
-
Great building :)
-
Awwwww, awesome usage of steck !!!! Great building !!! I wish i could turn into a klicky for a few min and go and pray in it !!!
-
I like it very much
-
Thank you for your comments :)

Good to know, next time I will know how to do it more realistic ;)
-
it's really beautiful! i particularly like the pic were they're in mass
-
So, noboby misses the "someone"? ??? :P
-
I did notice that no clickies took their children to church. :)
-
Hmm, I'm not sure if you're missing anyone, but you've got no statues or sculptures of religious figures if that's what you mean. And I noticed the nun is a bit lonely up there, so maybe you could add the Grandmaster of Malta, Bishop, or Monk figures.
Also, I see that your avatar isn't attending.
-
Wonderful building
- both the outside and the inside  :wow:

Also they didn't have pews. :-[
(I can't help myself.) :P
Although it is really an excellent church!
I can't wait to get enough steck to finish my city. (Church included.) :)

no, it's not that :P

Very close ;)
I was trying to point out that the big cross is looking "abandonned"... Jesus seems to have run off ;D

hmm, nailing up a klicky on the cross might get geobra a bit upset :hmm: probably best left off. I do agree it would look great but then you would not be able to post the picture
great classic church :prays: :whip:
-
Didn't someone get in trouble before for nailing a klicky Jesus to a cross? In trouble with Geobra, I mean? It may have been the heat bending that was the issue.
-
It was someone on Klicywelt, but I think he made several religious sceneries and dioramas.
Btw, it shouldn't necessarily be a klicky fulfilling the role of "Jesus on the cross", you could use an old crucifix with a sculpted Jesus on it, I'm sure there are such ones that would be appropriate in size.
-
I thought that's what you were getting at. ;) I don't think they had icons like that so much in Medieval churches (mostly for the costs) though, and I think it looks great without it!
-
To me the church seems more protestant than Catholic and I dont believe jesus is depicted on the cross too often in a protestant church. At least not any of the protestant churches I have visited.

In medieval times would it be much cheaper to just nail up a peasant and change it weekly :P

 Probably.

(and even more gruesome!)
-
If it is supposed to be a prostestant church, then it is fine like it is. :yup:
It is a great custom-work, I'm just used to see Jesus on the cross in our churches.
In Belgium most people are Catholic and we have a lot of medieval churches left, most of the big crucifixes have a sculpted Jesus on it. You know, during the Reformation (the big Schism in Christianity) sculptures and paintings and such of religious figures were destroyed by the Reformists. That is why you usually don't see them in Protestant churches.

:lmao: :omg:

Let's drop this discussion now guys, and get back to the original topic.

I don't think I ever nailed any Klickies to crosses, at least I didn't post them if I did, so it wasn't me :)
Very nice church though, I really like what you did with the transcepts, though they would be nicer with arches in them than doors I think.
-
Nice work! I really like the rugs.
Thanks for sharing the pictures!

That's a beautiful looking Steck church, Pirateclick! I love both the inside and out! :)9
