Title: Good news about series 2 figs
Post by: Elric on March 03, 2012, 00:58:09
Got a call from my local toyshop owner and he told me that PM usa got the series two figures in this week and will ship out next week. Better late than never!

Good luck getting them then, mate! :) I wonder why they never sell the figures on any of the official websites though... Oh well, it's better being able to guess I suppose, if you can find a shop with them.

Do you mean three full cases for you, or three cases for the shop for you to dig through?

See my thread in trades - it's a co-op - 3 boxes of each to open and then sell at cost to other members wanting complete sets.
At least one full set for myself this time, maybe two of some

i am guessing you have to actually go into the store to get that sale? have you been to the FP in Florida? I am planning a trip in June...what's it like?

As far as I know, it's in-store only. And yes, I've been to the FP quite a few times, it's about 45 minutes from my house.
Don't expect a big complex or outdoor play areas like Zirndorf. The indoor play area is definitely larger than the "store" side.
Even when I've been there on "busy" times of the year, I haven't seen the place packed with people and have never had
to wait in line to make my purchases. Most of the staff is fairly knowledgeable and if not sure they try to find the answer for you.
The place needs a little sprucing up (and these are just my pet peeves), they need to update their dioramas. Last time I was there
they still had their old, dusty christmas diorama up on display. I'm guessing after this big sale they will revamp the store and restock
with new items: last time I visited a lot of the drawers in the DS/Add Ons section were empty and had been empty for a while.

Definitely the place to visit in Florida if you are a PM fan.
And no, doesn't matter how hard you try, the staff will not be convinced to sell you one of the life size PM figures.
I once asked the girl behind the counter and she told me that once in a while they are instructed to toss old displays...
I then proceeded say, jokingly of course, "well, I guess I'll doing some dumpster diving". She had this look of horror on her face LOL

I hear ya... the thought of one of those cool, rotating dioramas just laying among half eaten slices of pizza and soiled diapers, in a heap of garbage almost brings a tear to my eye!  :'(

I would love it if all funparks were given permission from Geobra to give these displays to known collectors, rather than throwing them away. It's such a waste.

they should just happen to mention when they are throwing it out... then if it goes missing from the ...um... trash... then nobody needs to know

i am sure someone there grabs them before and just gives it to a friend or something. I returned a new hot tub for someone to costco and the forklift operator said that they were required to smash it and dump it out back, then he winked and looked over at his truck  ;D. the thing was like 4k

great news about the figs

as for the life size klickies - do they really throw them away? how environment-unfriendly is that

Retailers were required in the past to send it all back, then since Geobra is in the plastic industry they just have to throw it all in a grinder and re-cycle it all.

I am sure it is now more of a pain to ship it all around so they just let it slide.

I can not remember but I thought our local private store is buying them

That's the way it goes, though. At Chris's store they are required to destroy and throw away returned products, really expensive stuff sometimes!

I personally have not seen these in the big stores yet. One of my local shops got them in but not the other one yet.
