Title: is the new freight train headed to the US?
Post by: Rasputin on March 02, 2012, 05:17:14
I was wondering if anybody knows if Geobra plans on distributing this one in the US? The last train produced was the special 4085 and it never made it to the US,  :'(

If they are planning to then I would find it odd that the tracks are now put on clearance

I saw the track on clearance too and wondered about that.  Could be that since the stores aren't ordering track at this time, the decided to reduce their inventory and will get more track with the new train, we hope.

But if you are looking to add some track to your layout and you're in the US, this is probably the cheapest price you're going to find.  With the price of oil going up, I don't see playmobil's cost of goods going down anytime soon.

I have not checked lately but auctions of track lots were about 1/2 of new.

I have not seen track in a store in 4 years. I really do not remembering any train sets either. I think the only one at a local store might be the re-colored white/yellow passenger

maybe as well as a new train the track will also be new, e.g. with rails in a metallic colour and sleepers in a wood or concrete finish.

I really hope it does! We've been way over due for a while now. A new track color would be great also.

Thank you.  Now, can you tell me how much airmail would be from the US to the UK for a package weighing, say, 750g?

I checked here (http://ircalc.usps.gov/) and it seemed expensive $45. There has to be something less expensive
