Title: Katabami foot soldiers completed
Post by: cheng on March 01, 2012, 09:07:47
As Samurai armies became bigger, signal units using visual signals like flags/banners and audible signals using Drums, bells, conch shells, gongs and wooden clappers became essential (are there any playmo conch shells I can use?)

anyway, I've finished up these katabami solodiers, with much thanks to the encouragement from you PFs,
(now to decide whether to make arquebusiers for them or spoil the still good condition clown-drum from Elaine)

oh, I forgot to give credit to Cowabounga for his beautifully detailed artwork and printing of the PVC transfers clearly seen in the 2nd photo.

I say ruin the drum.  >:D :evilplan:

before Elaine sent me this drum, I asked her to pick the worst one but the stickers on both sides are still good...I read up on a thread to remove and store used PM stickers...sounded easy...like putting on Cowabounga's stickers :P,
well, I'll try my best to save those stickers first ;D

Great work, cheng! Now your samurai have a signal corps, in fact, a wireless signal corps!

thanks everyone!

you know, Luis, I've been hesitating to spray more japanese/chinese feet hoping Geobra would do it soon (they have created so many new leg moulds in a year)...but even the orange monk in Fi?ures series 3 seems to be wearing white sports shoes (perhaps he's supposed to be just a present day kung fu parctitioner.....btw present day monks still wear cloth or straw footwear)
so looks like I have to continue defacing more perfectly good PM feet :P

Well, the feet that you've done so far look excellent! Which ones do you start with?

I use 2 types....the poorer villagers or maybe summer time, using napoleonic shorts without socks. or those 'viking' legs with wrapped boots

Oh, cool. I figured that the viking boots would be good for that!

That's what I was going to say

The drum isn't complete Cheng, so I'd say go ahead!
The stickers can be saved in a small airtight jar.
