I really did not care about how much competition there was between Lego and Playmobil until I saw a thread in the Playclicks Spanish forum. They were making predictions on fi?ures series 4 and they concluded we will see some characters already realeased by Lego. Make your bets!
Series1

Series2

Series3

Series4

Same here, lol!!!!!

It just doesn't seem to me that very many are copied. I see a few, but a lot of the lego figures are stuff playmobil already has a full theme of, like clowns and egyptians and zookeepers. It seems lego has a lot that are quite similar. Wouldn't mind a hula girl (series 3) or a hippie (series 7), though.
-
college graduate seems likely, as does a leprechaun... but other than that playmo has already done most of these as regular figures so I doubt they would show up in series 4... but a leprechaun would be perfect for next years "february" release ;)
-
Hmm, assuming that we are to predict or wish for copied ones... I would like to see: Ninja (1), Male Vampire (2), Elven Archer (3), Genie (6), Hippie (7), Dark Knight (7), Red Riding Hood (7), and most definitely the Valkyrie or female Norse Warrior (7)! And of course all of the other awesome Medieval or fantasy ones too, but they seem to already be in Playmobil's line.

I really like he teacher in series 5 - I would like to see a hat like that.

Really? :o I'll have to try to find out where that was. Was it in one of those fairy tale sets?
-
nope...it is a Special figure... made in 1999.
Special 4562
;D

Ditto for the male vampire...
-
PM already has Elvis, Lady Gaga, Tio Sam, Lara Croft. If the trend is to continue like this, we could see Marilyn, Lincoln and others.
Taking ideas from Lego I would love to see: Wrestler in mask (1), Mime artist (2), Sumo (?) wrestler (3), Frankenstein (4), Dwarf clown (5), Irish Leprechaun (6), Aztec Eagle Knight-Scottish with bagpipes-Hippie (7)
With the introduction of new torso and legs used in swimmers, gymnasts and ballerinas the possibilities are unlimited, almost all themes could have new figures with different dresses but I do not think that's gonna happen. At least, Aztec and African warriors would be great.

Ah, cool! Thanks. :) Too bad it's a little child though.
-
My 2 favourites are the crash test dummy (series 1) and the hula girl (series 3)
I would also like to see the male and female tennis players, the male and female snowboarders, the lifeguard(s2), mime(s2), aviator(s3), b-boy(s3), sailor(s4), graduate/professor(s5), eskimo(s5) disco dancer(s5), genie(s6), hippy(s7) and the Scottish bagpipe player(s7). :crossed:
I have to say, some of the ones Playmo have already done either in the Specials or the Fi?ures series are very like the Lego ones but the same also works in reverse...there are many that Playmo did first.
I'm just happy that Playmobil keep them coming as I am really liking the Fi?ures series. :)9

Um, little red riding hood was a child, going to see her grandmother.

I suppose that Little Red Riding Hood is, but in the original tales on which hers is based she is often just a "young maid". She mustn't always be a small child! I just meant that I wish for an adult sized Playmobil red hood, haha! And I think it would be really cool if they revived the Fairy Tale themes with more tales and characters. :)
-
i might have to paint a hood and make a full hooded cloaked riding hood now... drat another project to never get around to
-
i must admit that the lego series is some what more interesting than the playmobil one from some aspects,
-
I can't believe we a speculating on series 4 when I have not seen series 2 in stores yet.
-
I'd say cheerleader, hippie, bull-fighter (was that on there?)
-
i don't care really, i'm sure it'll be as cool as it's been so far with series 3

Haha, well make sure to show us if you do it! Sounds like it'd be cool.

I for one would be very happy with a kilted Scotsman, a Greek warrior or a "hula" girl. :)

All good choices. I like those.

It does look like Geobra is willing to make all kinds of molds for these Fi¿ures series. You could just about pick anything and they will make the mold. If you look at the "lady Ga Ga" one how else are they going to use that piece?
This is not how it used to be with each mold costing hundreds of thousands of euros. Geobra was not willing to make stuff that did not have a long shelf life.
Why not more animal heads like the "bunnies" series.
Or much more elaborate molds for past themes like Egyptian/Roman
I could use the long legs & hammer that came with the "circus" theme
-
bulls head... minotaur... would have to have lots of those...
it is possible that the gaga thing could be turned upside down for some sort of skirt i guess ???

That does seem like the case here, and that could be good news insofar as we could acquire some things that would never really make it into a themed set. But at the same time, I hope that the reverse is true and that some of the figures and themes will be revived, like the dwarf, Far East theme, and the like.
-
I think we don't have to compare playmobil with lego!My ideas for fi?ures 4 are:
Victorian lady with yellow clothes
Victorian man with black costume
Vampire man with two faces
Top agent with two faces
Singer with characteristics of Madonna
Singer like John Lennon
Skater girl with two faces
Mother with baby
Modern woman with mini skirt (such as these of new hotel set)
Modern man with blazer and jeans

Personally, I would like to see the F?gures go the way of the dodo, but I would like a Greek Hoplite and Scottish Bagpiper Special.
-
One of the very few stores in my city which sells the figures, has now closed down too... It wasn't a small store, so I'm not sure why it closed... :'(

That might just be the case.
I heard a "rumor" about sales (at least in my country); it seems collectors are jumping for these wonderful figures, but kids (and their parents with the wallets) aren't that much exicted about the surprise f?gures, probably due to the fact they don't know what they're buying.
So that may explain why so few stores sell them here, and if they do, it is in a not very noticed spot...

It would appear here in our area of the US the figures are moving. I never see any in TRU and the local Brick and Mortar is always low on stock. The boys seem to move faster but only in some stores/areas. I could ask the owner of our local B&M for a more accurate assumption. There is always the Geobra warehouse not keeping the stores well supplied and that would make it look as though the stores are always out.

I don't think that the fourth series is out anywhere, unless you meant that even older ones aren't there yet. :-\

series 4 is so lame.. 3 is way better
