Actually, I wouldn‘t say it‘s a custom. It is just the special 4748. This was my tribute to Akira Kurosawa's films. Seven Samurai, from 1954, is one of my favorites.

If he was holding a staff he could be 'Monkey', great sage, equal of Heaven (in tribute to the Japanese children's programme from the 70s).
