I thought this was an interesting use of these plant parts... the little bush is stuck through the lily pad. I hadn't seen it done that way before, but I may have missed something.

The assembled baseplate. Of course, the water is just painted on here, not a seperate piece that snaps in. It looks ok, but not as good as the usual kind of water.

Animals added.... it comes with only one fish, which is a little unusual.

A close-up of the klicky. I love his shirt! Haven't seen it before.

A close-up of the new signs, the main reason I wanted this set.

And here is the whole thing. It's a cute little set, though I won't use it like this. The sign stickers were a must, though... I wish they made them for every animal!

Where did you get this set and how much was it? The pink birds are not as add ons so now I want to keep adding them to the collection. The base looks of and maybe if it was on a large green area it could look like a swamp with many of these sets together

It's a nice set, I think it's well done. I would much rather have another little plant piece than another fish, so I think they made the right choice there.  The klicky looks great too, and of course the signs are nice to have.

Nice...
I did get some add-on Flamingos the other week... I just wish they would make one flamingo with a bent leg... you know, the stereotypical flamingo pose.  :)

Thanks for this review of a nice little set.  Like you, Bonnie, I prefer the separate water.

Is the klicky an addition to the Asian range?

Is this an exclusive?
And do the bullrushes not come with these things anymore:
30 08 9930 - Water plant top (cattail) (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-08-9930)
or are these not supposed to be bullrushes?   8}

Great review though!

I believe it is a US exclusive. Those little cat tails seem to come in some sets and not others, or sometimes a set will come with not enough to go with all the plants. Not sure what the deal is with that. ???

Plus that plant part comes in a variety of colors and sometimes even shows up used as coral underwater.

thanks for the nicfe review, Bonnie!

any idea of why all flamingoes have the plastic base for their legs? i find it totally unecessary...or is it for when kids play with them in the water?

They tip over pretty easily without it. I find when you bend the flamingo down its even more likely to fall. Or if your house isn't exactly level  ::)

Yeah, I can't get them to stand up without them. I wish they had them for the storks. It drives me mad trying to keep storks on their feet.

Ok, i may be the first person to ever utter that sentence! The things we say around here sound so strange out of context.
