Great photos, Tim ... :wow:
Kind of makes me feel like I'm back at Kruger National Park ... !!!
(Wonder when Playmobil will make some hyenas? Some impalas and water buffalo would be nice too.))
Thanks!
All the best,
Richard

Looks fantastic!!
Also the background (done by computer??)
But you would really spice it up if you'd thrown in some lionesses >:D

Tim, this is absolutely terrific, fantastic! :o :o :o
I really like the ground and the background you made. Fabulous! Can you provide me some information how you did it and what you have used for it? Also some dimensions of the scenario would be helpful. Your scenery looks that realistic and deep (the width of the steppe is very good chosen), so I wonder how deep it actually was and what are effects of your backdrop. (Or is it electronically added?)
I'm asking in that detail because I search for quite a while for a suitable scenery to make some "family" photos of my little jaguars (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=727.msg10769#msg10769). So this would be the perfect scenery.

Those sets together make a wonderful scene Tim! Thanks for sharing.

The grass is a piece of flannel cloth that I found at the fabric store. It has a variegated green pattern. I actually have a blue backdrop that I use that is the color of the sky, but it usually ends up looking wrinkled (it is cloth hung like a curtain) so the sky and hills are added digitally. I select the blue back cloth with the magic wand tool in Photoshop Elements with a tolerance of about 25, contiguous, and with a few clicks it is all selected. Then I delete it and put in a new sky layer behind. The hills are another layer between the sky and foreground that I painted in using colors from the grass. I like the way the simple painting looks, it is in a style that works with the Playmo without distracting from it. This is set up on a table in my dining room. It's about 36x45 inches, about a meter deep by about 1.25 meters wide.
I will take a picture of the room as it is set up so you can get an idea of what it looks like. Right now I am in transition getting ready to do Halloween. I have a foam board base that is 4 by 4 feet (about 1.25 meters square) that I think I will put on top of the table to extend it a bit. I have a nice grey felt in that dimension that I will use as a base cloth. I intend to use a black sheet for the back cloth on that one. I have a halloween photo scavenger hunt I am doing and thought I might try setting up all 20 of the items out of Playmobil in a single photo.

My Dining Room

And ... What else would you use a dining room for? ...
I need to show my wife that our dining room could also be a useful room ... ;)
Seriously, the dining room is probably the least used room in the house.
Unfortunately, it's usually located right in the middle of everything ... :(
However, maybe a dividing wall or a decorative screen could solve that problem .. :)
I wonder if she'll notice? ... ::)
Thanks for some great ideas, Tim !!!
All the best,
Richard

Thank you Tim, for this information. Didn't noticed this. (But when looking twice I think it can be seen on the big elephants back ...). Anyway, very well done, and you're right that this matches quite well to the PM style.

Hi Tiermann,
That is one great set up. The table-backdrop is an excellent idea, I must try that myself.
Well Done!!!
