Hi!
I was doing some sorting in my Playmobil stuff and I came around those two eggs. I went to PlaymoDB to know a bit more about these and I couldn't find anything... Is it me that is blind or something?.... Does anyone know anything about these eggs? Could it be that these are promo stuff or something like that?.....
Best regards from Canada!

Hi Tahra!
Do you know if there are others like this? In what year were they issued? Are they scarce?
Thanks!

AFAIK, there are 3 colors...
I just found mine again recently - I think I posted what was in them in the PROCESS... Two had Mobilux & Patrick F Patrick, the other the snow guy & kids...
Have no idea if they're rare or not.
Edit - the eggs have a date for the event: 16-5-98

The origin of these eggs were bugging me, and tahra left a good lead......
I went through the Playmobil Collector guide and I finally found something on page 444. The two eggs shown on the first post were part of a serie of 3 different eggs that were given in 1998 on "Open Factory day"......
The last thing to know is the "Open Factory day" of what? I would guess it's Fun Park in Germany... In fact like tahra mentionned there is a sticker on these eggs that says
"Tag der offenen Tür" & "Diettenhofen 16.5.98"..... Can somebody translate that?
How the hell did I get my hands on those eggs? I don't have any idea... I for sure wasn't there on opening day in Germany!
Well, it's great to eliminate some clouds over these eggs...
I leave you a scan of the page in the Playmobil guide...

I wish I had a Patrick F Patrick and Professor Mobilux :'(
-
The first part of that just says the equivalent of "Open Door Day"
The second part is the date it happened and Diettenhofen is the small city where the main Playmobil factory in Germany is located. The Funpark is in Zirndorf, so this must have been a literal factory day probably with tours at the production facility.

I wish I had a Patrick F Patrick and Professor Mobilux :'(
me too!
and congrats on finding the secret of the eggs...now the mystery is how they came to be with you i suppose!

These are awesome! The male and female winter figures were originally available in 3693 and the winter man with shovel came from the rare 3695.

Well, we finally get the whole picture.... This forum is just great!...
We now know that these eggs were given on may 16, 1998 on opening day at the Playmobil factory in Germany!.....Thanks everyone for helping with this research....
Now the final question is: "How come these eggs find their way in my boxes?... "...
I don't know how, but man am I happy to have these! :P .... also still sealed in bags.... I'm thinking about putting these on Ebay and then retire in the Turk & Caicos island sipping Pina Colada for the rest of my life! 8}..... Am I getting a little too excited here? 8} sure....
Cheers from Canada! :yippee:
