Hi everyone!
I'm new around here, so I hope I'm at the right place to share with you my new acquisition.... I already had an almost complete 3888 "Castle deffenders" set, but this week-end I was lucky enough to get my hands on an almost complete set #3666 "Large castle".
Since these two sets could be lock together, boy was I anxious to see those assembled..... I was happy to get the #3666 plans on the Playmobil site.... 8}
It's probably not 100% authentic with a few missing parts, but nevertheless it looks really great!
Enjoy!

Welcome to the ranks of 3666 owners. Many of us around here love the Steck system sets and do as much as we can with them. Some even consider them holy (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=10420.0). ;)
It seems like however many castle parts you have you always need just a bit more to do the next cool project you have planned.

that is awesome! i am looking to get my hands on some of those soon! all the ones i have found seem to be a bit too pricey for my pocketbook right now.
those are beautiful! thanks for sharing the pictures!

Thanks for the good words....
One simple question for you Tim.... I'm probably ignorant or something, but when you say "Steck system", what do you mean? Is there another system, because for me it's the only one I know....
Cheers from Canada!

3666!! its the best of the best of the best!!!! ;D and combination with 3888 .... its the absolute steck set!!

Two great buys there - congratulations!
As well as the Steck system, Playmobil's other majoer building system is System-X.
If you go here:
http://playmodb.org/
you can query on the set numbers and check what parts you have missing.

Congratulations, a few months ago I got mine after wanting it ever since it first appeared in catalogues. :)
Especially since my avatar(s) where part of my first real knights set and its their home.
While theres no instructions for it, the 3888 expansion seems to go pretty well on the other side too, just takes a bit of adjusting here and there. If you like I can show you a picture of how that could look.

Hi Rhalius,
Sure I would be happy to see your pictures of the set 3888 on the other side...

Alright here it is.

Some other sets from the associated factions are also included here, and I used the castle in this shape for my "Frederick and the dark knights" story. :)
I just felt it seemed like the defences would be better distributed this way and I like how the house has the central position now, just my preference though.

It's getting harder and harder not to own steck and medieval klicky's along with it. :-\  Must withstand!

First of all baboune, welcome on board  . I am pleased to see that you are on the right track as Steck and especially the 3666 is -INDEED HOLY Sir Tiermann :hmm:- the very best playmobil has ever created, a view shared by others too here as 3666 was voted the best set of all time. Your post actually reminded me that rainy day in university when i bought my first 3666 castle. It was a day I still remember and i can even remember the day i combined the equally HOLY 3888 to the 3666. Have a look at my www under my avatar and see how multiple 3666s and 3888s look like in a ( ugly ) custom set up. I really like your pictures and set up , remind me of how good the original 3666 is and how much better it looks with the 3888.
PS: Beware of what I refer to as ' Steck Fever ' though, a term I am proud to have discovered for a well known illness here. It is highly contagious and once you have it it never shakes off .. beware sir, beware...... can lead to posts of the ' I can live without food for a day but not without my Steck' kind which indeed can be slightly worrying... :loco:

Awesome castle!! Looks great. You are definitely scored big with the 3666 for your collection.
Thanks for sharing the pics and welcome to the forum!

Why can't I find my own 3666? :hissyfit:
Anyways, awesome purchases! They both look great together.

Ah, a warm welcome to the wonders of steck! I too recently acquired these same sets and am in love! I have them set up in the lounge room for, er, the kids to play with but am driving visitors mad by saying "isn't this stuff the best toy you have ever seen!".
