It's the wheel (crank) to hoist the anchor on a ship
30 60 9340 - Crank to hoist anchor; double hook, triple hook for rigging sails (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2060%209340)

from the instruction booklet it looks like it comes as a set with the hooks http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30+51+1560 so panos is right you just got an extra

Oh so the new spool has the crank on it, they are one and the same part! Interesting...
I think I have a theory... I was looking the other day to find the part number for a sail hook and discovered that the partnumber is used to include more parts than the hook itself...
Like: 30 61 4420 - Crank to hoist anchor; hooks for sails (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-61-4420) and 30 60 1440 - Mast and rigging attachments (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30601440)... I see now that 5135 also has the hook listed with the crank... 30 51 1560 - Hook with loop, double-ended S-shaped hook (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-51-1560) so maybe the mould produces all the hooks and cranks but there is no use for the crank... no way to go around it, changing the mould, so you are stuck with an extra crank... :eh?: make sense?

This crank was used in the very first pirate ship for the anchor. i can recall looking for this crank in a pile of pirate stuff many years ago!!!

i think youre right with the mold cause on the instructions book its pictured so .

I'm not liking this trend where PM moulds what used to be seperate pieces now together, especially on the new ship. It makes it less detailed looking IMO. The old anchor hoist was seperate parts, AND seperate colours. Made it more interesting (and also fun to put together). Not to mention the moulded-in stairs, captain's table, bed, and bed cover....yuk :( just makes it look cheap and plasticy and lazy!
