i have a friend who is the director of a museum about to open dedicated to the battle of aljubarrota - wikipedia battle of aljubarrota (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aljubarrota) - wher the portugues army defeated the spanish one in 1385.
one of his duties is to design and produce all the merchandising the museum's store will sell.
knowing that i am a playmobil fan he asked if i kew if geobra would be interested in producing some 4 or 5 special figures to be sold at the musem.
i have no idea.
can anyone help me with this?
i know geobra can tchnically do this - it would just take them the work of reassembling some existing pieces form the medieval/castle theme.
how can we ask them?

My suggestion would be to get your friend to write to Gisela Kupiak (gisela_kupiak@playmobil.de ).
She is the head of Playmobil's PR department, so she would be able to put him in touch with whoever he needs to speak to about this. :)
Sounds like an exciting project! I hope he is able to get their co-operation so it can go ahead.

I know they did just that for a museum in Magdeburg (the Magdeburger Reiter - 6101) but they would have to buy roughly 20.000 sets ...
That might be tricky.

:)
thank you bogro and sylvia,
i am passing my friend the contact.
20.000 sets may not be difficult.
i think the museum will have an on-line store.
;)
i bet that if some of our friends in this forums and others know about this, they will be very interested in buying a couple of knights...

I suppose if an individual were wanting to produce their own special figures using exisitng parts on a small scale, say a few hundred, it would be a matter of some large DS orders and then individual assembly.

::)
your possibility exists, playmofire.
???
i could see a few problems:
- ds is not avaiable in portugal
- ds products don't come in boxes
- it would be a problem to sell "parts" bought somehow privately
- a ds complete catalogue would be needed
- there would be no possibilities of new painted decorations
a logistics nightmare, maybe ...
i will keep you posted on the evolution of this story.
thank you very much for the valuable help.

I wasn't suggesting that that was the way to go, only musing. The thought of buying all that was needed to make even 1000 unique klickies and then assembling the parts, possible first having to disassemble 1000 figures first, makes me shudder. :o
Do, though, keep us informed about developments.

Yes please, keep us informed.
I would like to see how they turn out!
