Title: Supermarket 3200
Post by: EmGee on February 04, 2012, 10:02:34
My slightly used 3200 is here!
Mostly complete, it's missing the blue counter by the service window, but it worked out perfectly... i kinda don't like that walk-up window anyway, So I made some modifications, expanded the floorplan somewhat and added more stuff. As soon as I finish placing the  8} 35 thousand  8} little cans/boxes/jars on the shelves I'll post some pics.

I highly recommend a little bit of sticky tack under those items, so they aren't falling all over the place constantly!

I was thinking about using my warm glue gun. They will definitely be secured somehow...

Just be careful that you don't put glue on at full heat as it can damage the plastic if it gets too hot. Hot glue usually works fine, though and comes off well.

Anyway, congratulations on your new supermarket!

Congratulations on this great set! I agree with bb, about the white sticky tack that I use. It is much easier to use as a temporary holding element. :)9

There are 2 temperatures to hot glue guns. I use the lower temp one and have never had a problem with it damaging the plastic. It takes very little to hold things down in any event.

Quake hold or museum tack works great, it is reusable, and clear.  It comes in thin sheets, about 3x5 two per pack, you roll a small bit between your fingers and stick it down.  A little goes a long way. When you are ready to move the item, just peel it off and it leaves no residue, roll it between your fingers and it is good for the next stick.  We use it under all of our things in the event of an earthquake, and since I live in San Francisco, that is a fairly common event.  It holds heavy vases, my sailing ship models, and my clocks.  If you can't find it, pm me, and I will send it to you.

I just won one of these on auction. Can't wait for mine to arrive; such an awesome set. Now have to be patient and wait for the accessory sets to come on auction at reasonable prices, albeit I already did get the van off of Amazon.

I like that entire Supermarket theme! The only issue is the many tiny packages & cans that you are required to install decals on! :o I need many more System X parts to construct an area to house 7 3201 checkout cashiers.

Wow! You really do go all out! All of these for just one supermarket? Or, do you have 2 or 3 supermarkets combined? Would love to see the entire set-up someday.

Each register has its own number! Were these included? I have one 3201, but I don't remember it coming with more than the #1 and maybe the #2 stickers. Of course, I got that set many years ago, back before I saved everything.

Those are custom numbered signs 1 thru 7. Those are all for 1 3200 supermarket with some extension sets.
