Inspired by the cold weather, -10 degree Celsius (= 14 degrees Fahrenheit) and the snow, I decided to show some Norse Gods in this thread.
For the playmofans who have the vikings, these are the gods they worship. ;)
The first one is the Ruler of Asgard the realm of the Gods. Odin god of war and wisdom, often shown with his two ravens (Huginn and Muninn) and his two wolves (Geri and Freki).
Odin the warrior:

Odin The Wanderer reminds me of ( no surprise ) The wanderer in Wagner's Opera Siegfried. I watched this awesome opera about a month ago and this saturday i am watching Götterdämmerung ( Wagner also )
I hope to see more customs of yours inspired by Wagner's operas; they are truly and by far the very best !!!!! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

The wanderer in Siegfried is based on Odin, the wanderer. :) I'm not particullary fan of opera, but Wagner is cool 8-), by the way, Bizets Carmen is also great, especially in the arena of Verona!

Well now you've inspired me, because "Ride of the Valkyries" sounded in my head when Wagner was mentioned.
So here are the Valkyries.

Is it really that cold in the Netherlands? I am concerned as I am holidaying in Amsterdam this weekend. I'll not pack my shorts.
I am an opera fan but cannot get on with Wagner. It goes on too long and is far too Teutonic for my taste. I'll take Verdi - anyone up for Il Trovatore as seen in the Marx Brother "A Night at the Opera" or what about "Aida" using the Egyptian theme?

excellent customs - love them! Great photos too.
-
Excellent Valkyrie! :omg:
-
Excellent figures!
-
This is cool! I like the Valkyries especially! You should make more figures related to this theme!

Some more pics of Norse mythology.
First 2 are of Loki still in his prime being the god of fire.

Wonderful!
Thank you! :)

Awesome! Thanks a lot for posting more! These are really, really cool. If Playmobil revived the Viking theme and added Valkyries and such, I'd buy them all for sure. :)

Hope he suits your idea of the legendary God. I based him on the comic.
Best,

@Pynedor: Still a lot of Gods, giants, dwarves that can be playmobilized! The thread is ongoing. ;)
@Arnoud: Great one! Absolutely love it. He fits in this thread rather well. Guess that mine would have looked a bit different, if I'd make one, would not have used the marvel one as a model, but mine would have never been so magnificent!
@ Wolf Knight: Indeed, the helmet was just in time. With Loki it's the same as with Thor, their both quite famous characters in the marvel universe (comics like spiderman, x-men etc........ ??? you probable know this, why I'm explaining) so it's difficult not too find another picture. Thor's outfit is oke in the comics, and so is Arnouds custom, but Loki with the green-yellow...

Magnificent work!!!!

these are great pictures - love Thor, but what I like best is the background. The light is excellent - you've got a real knack of bringing out the best in each shot. Well done!

Thanks for the compliments! :)
To be honest the Thor is not my creation and picture, it's Cowabounga's.

The Helmdall picture is superb.

Great customs, conniefrere! :viking:
