Good we're not stuck with those ugly mugs... Of course, from my experience with that top agent, we need long hair so the horrid thing isn't visible from the back...

I checked my local toy shop today, to see if they had gotten these in. They had NOTHING new :(, not even stuff from the 2012 catalog. The store was busy, though, so I didn't get to talk to the shop owners to get an update.

I'm glad the "normal" Playmobil face is an option on these figures. Makes some of them a little more appealing (IMHO).

Yes, series 3 in the summer... August, maybe?

It's WAY too fast, especially if we consider the blind factor...

Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: tahra on February 08, 2012, 21:47:11
Very quick, especially when you add the blind thing... People end up not having the time to buy what they want...
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: bonniebeth on February 08, 2012, 21:58:16
I think it's a brilliant move on their part. They have us all rushing to buy them as soon as they come out, hundreds of collectors all over the world buying an extra 48 klickys a year on average, probably. Some don't buy them all, some get multiples of certain ones, or all of them. But I know I must have one of each.
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: Luis on February 08, 2012, 22:23:23
yeah I agree with Tahra - it's too fast

if we compare it to the case of the Special theme we are being rushed to buy too many in a short period of time (that's bussiness, I know) but I guess it's pretty ok since they're offering great designs

I need to get the ones I still don't have from S1 before they are discontinued :omg:

I also agree with Tahra that the series follow each other up too quick.

Btw, are the colours of the packages of series 2 different to those of series 1 (blue/pink)?
If the colours are the same, it could become problematic when  in  shops  the series 2  are added to the same baskets with the leftovers from series 1 (and there are many of those here), which would make it even more complicated to find the ones you want...
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys

The bags on Series 2 are yellow and green...(I think).
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: Baron Marshall on February 09, 2012, 00:08:16
i agree it is too fast... I'm contemplating dropping out of current lines and going pure classic collecting because there is no way I'll be able to keep up  :o   One series a year I could handle ... or if they were going to say... release them as "specials" the following year in regular non-blind packaging... but this is getting a bit too much for me   :'(
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: bootgypsy on February 09, 2012, 02:00:07
yes, the series 2 are different colors. I have not seen them in person so i am not sure, but they do appear to be a yellow/orange color and a green/teal color.

I can see why  6mo. seems like a quick time, and maybe it is because there are not that many PM buyers in my area, but i started two weeks ago looking for the series 1, going to different shops and feeling packages, and have been able to find at least 1 of each (except for that dang Russian bride!) and have not had any trouble discerning which klicky was in the package. I am READY for the Series 2 to hit the local stores so i can start hunting a new set!  :cheerlead:
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys

Yeah, it's not fast enough for me! I'm dying to have series 2 and 3. Tomorrow would be fine with me!
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: tahra on February 09, 2012, 09:16:51
The problem is the wallet... I intend to buy a box of each. But like Baron said, one a year would be fine...

Then it's hard to get more repeats of the cavewoman ones I want... especially cause I'm hopeless at the "feeling" :(
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: bonniebeth on February 09, 2012, 21:56:16
I just bought two more cavewomen today. ;D They're easy to feel for! Just look for the baby, it beds on the middle. Also the little wooden bowl is easy to feel.

She is the one I am still chasing.  I wanted her because the theme seems neat and only will have one female easily available in a set.  Unless the DS family set becomes available.

LOL! I am in too much of a hurry for that. Besides, the only place they're available at is TRU in my part of the world, and I doubt they'd care too much about them.  ;D
Title: Re: Fi?ures series 2 - boys
Post by: bonniebeth on February 10, 2012, 04:11:34
Same for me about the cavewoman... the theme has lots of cavemen and women are scarce, so I'm stocking up on women. I'm keeping one of each F?gure set apart to stay as they are, and then getting duplicates of certain ones to use for parts, or in certain themes. SO I now have three cave women altogether.

And yes, I rip them open the second I get in the car to make sure I got the ones I wanted!

Last time in toys r us the shop assistants kept walking past and laughing at me.   ::)  I didn't care-I just wanted the right klickies!
On another separate occasion in toymaster a woman said "oh, there's no point trying to feel them you'll never get the one you want".  In my head I was like just you wait and see  :P  but I politely put down my shopping, dug in and triumphantly paid for the highway robber 3 minutes later (It was the large sack that gave that one away).   ;D

Verity

My efficiency is 100%. I only take what I identify by touching. Not even opened the 12 pinky bags because I am sure what is inside (In addition, I did not plan to buy them until I saw the new series and I understood I will buy both boys and girls collections every single year). A lot of fun to come. Series 2 for girls look challenger, it will take me more time each. Marvelous sense of touch!!!

You just stare them straight in the eye and tell them that the little voices in your head tell you to feel what's inside the bags. They'll most likely leave you alone-if not avoid-you after that. ;) ;D

I had a discussion with a local supplier who indicated that Series 2 was not going to be released until April in the USA, does anybody know anything else about this? I was told that it was because the US stores would not buy inventory in February because or the way taxes work so they are pushing back the US roll-out to match up with the next theme release orders in April (also said the "May" release items should be available in April as well)  So... has anyone spotted any stateside yet?

i have not. I have one local learning express that said they will call me when they come in, and TRU said they should be in "in a few weeks" when they do their spring set....but who knows. I don't want to wait until april!!!  :-\  :'( :hissyfit:

Pics under the skirts? (yes, I know I sound like a pervert, insisting on those.. I'm just SO CURIOUS! I'd like to see pics of the parts.. uhm. I suppose THAT didn't help. But you guys know what I mean :P)

Is the Lara Croft the same usual "white" skin color? We've been wondering about that.. Cause if she's a different shade, that kinda ruins possibilities.

I know they're different figures, what I mean is if the parts are different... I thought they were made the same way... Kinda pointless if they're different, I mean, the purpose of the figures is supposed to be to mess them all about, right?

Ah, and thank you - forgot to say that before  :-[

My local shop got their order in and the figures were backordered. So April is a definite possibility I guess.

the cheerleader got the same inlet..

Could you please combine parts of ballerina, cheerleader or bikini girl with standard swimmers? I would like to see the results. Keep in mind fi?ure heads and standard heads are different and probably only torsos can fit. BTW, I still believe fi?ure torsos are a little bit narrower.

the skeleton is the same as that of the bikini girls, so they should be interchangable...

Yeah but remember this threat:

http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=10213.0

A standard head fits the fi?ure skeleton but not the opposite.

My point is for swimmer style skeletons, both standard and fi?ures, skeleton is fixed to hips and legs...

i meant this kind of surprise figures (ballerina) should be interchangable with the swim suited klickies, not with standard ones

There are a lot of these that seem pretty cool to me, but I am a bit disappointed that the knight has flesh-coloured hands. That annoys me sometimes, haha, but it's not that bad.

I'd like a look at the new rapier-looking swords from the pirate (and the fencer set) though, and some of the girl figures seem cool too.

You have much luck, friend! How are the pirate rapier-type swords and the princess's hair? I was wondering if the rapiers were rigid or bendable and whether her hair was short or long in the back. ;)

interesting new marketing by Geobra. They really are not bashful about copying right on the line anymore. It is a bit ironic that Geobra fights collectors about copy rights but then they sure push the envelope them selfs.

They all look the same. I saw a Flamenco dancer the statue you said, same looking knights, the skater kids, etc......

come on designers, you are paid top wages and this is what you come up with. Looks like you were on the office AKA toilet with the lego catalog and fished out all you designs.

don't get me wrong I want all of them but more for the fact that they are playmobil. There are some that do look really good and I will want many of them. My oldest son want an army of a particular soldier.
