Title: Post group pictures of your clickies!
Post by: Rhalius on February 02, 2012, 09:47:38
With the monthly contest gone it might be nice to come up with our own themed topics for everyone to post in without a deadline.  :)

So here's one to start with: Post group pictures of your clickies.

Here's my fearsome pirate crew.
I'd like to make a story with them in the future, I kind of have a personality worked out for all of them.

Sometimes they like to watch a movie to study the tactics of the British.

But it sometimes get's scary when they see a group of redcoats firing at their direction.

So go ahead and post your group pictures.  :)

They look great, and good to know your egyptian army takes reports of stolen kitties so seriously.

I kind of feel bad for your robbers though, they all seemed so happy with the kitty.

Here's a few, sorry about the table glare.  Who knew the table was so shiny?

Sort of a 2001 Space Odessey theme.

Yes, keep 'em coming! When I find some room to do it, I'll set up all my zoo visitors, and keepers. Maybe I could do it outside, out of reach of the puppy.

I like how you seem to really have made families with them, I already noticed that in your zoo.  :)

Can't see your avatar in the staff picture though, unless she dyed her hair red?  They look like a friendly bunch for sure.
Title: Re: Post group pictures of your clickies!
Post by: bonniebeth on February 06, 2012, 21:12:20
Yes, all my zoo visitors have permanent families, all in seperate ziplock bags when they're stored. I love putting people together, deciding who looks like a couple, and who their kids might be, and sometimes even making up a bit of a story about them. I take great care that they always really look like a family, right hair colors, parents looking the right age for the kids they have, etc.

I realized after I took the pic that I forgot to put my avatar in there. :-[ She's on a shelf, chillin' with some other avatars. But hey, she is kind of the zoo photographer, too, so we can say she was taking the pic and that's why she's not in it. ;)

Great idea for a thread. Too bad I don't have anything to contribute. I've enjoyed all the pics so far.

Bonniebeth, is that little blond girl (school crossing guard/small clinic) lost? She seems to be alone, and searching for somebody. Maybe she's just wandered off a bit from the blond mom with a camera? In any case, wonderful attention to detail! Such well constructed families.

the only klickies i have displayed are the ones i use for my pics (currently the Valentine's pictures) but it's so messy that i'd feel embarrassed
the rest are all packed, i hope to find some time soon to get some out of their boxes

Bonnie, that is a cool zoo keeping crew! that size of pic is definately a good one to be used in your signature as WoT suggests 8-)

The pirate ancestor of your avatar came with one of the newest pirate sets, pirates with arsenal. The asian pirate and the one with the red hat are in the same package.  :)

I kind of like that fat guy too, so full of personality. To me hes the greedy cannonier of the bunch. Likes his food and treasure, and prefers to stand behind the cannon or use pistols instead of swordfighting.

Here are some pictures of my collection, all assembled save the Romans and Pirates... who wouldn't fit! And that is my castle, which is occupied by the Teutonic Knights mostly. The ones before the castle in the front left are probably my favourites.

It's not as big as most collections, but I am very happy with it, and I hope that you all like it too. :)

I've been digging through storage crates today, and the girls immediately decided to line up all the klickies they could find to see what a crowd they could make. They filled the living room mantel, about 5 feet long, 9 inches deep.

(http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7049/6930133533_2db088085f_o.jpg) (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7199/6784016098_186c209cc5_o.jpg) (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7070/6930133327_f4f6ed82aa_o.jpg) (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7204/6930133235_f066a80a2f_o.jpg) (http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7048/6784015850_a59897d6d2_o.jpg)

And by the time they were done, I'd discovered another two gallon-size ziplock bags full of red- and green-torso'ed men - why they were separated out, who knows. A project for another day.

Nice mixed group of medieval clickies Pynedor, might still be more medieval clickies than I have. so don't worry about it.  :) Small groups of clickies can also do great things if they put their minds to it.  ;)

I also really like seeing all those mixed clickies standing together united and happy on the mantel. Nice that some seem to be looking at each other instead of in front of them.  :D

Miss E (age 11) will be happy you noticed that! She took care to vary them up so that they weren't like an army, she said, but more like a crowd waiting for a parade. (The diver has an advantage in that regard - he should be in the back!) She started out putting families together, but they soon saw friends and other people to talk to and wandered off into randomness.

The most boring group ever.

Well, well, technically rocks are not kilickies but due to the fact the “click“ is louder when they are assembled, they got the honorary title of Stoic Klicky.

The most boring group ever.

Well, well, technically rocks are not kilickies but due to the fact the “click“ is louder when they are assembled, they got the honorary title of Stoic Klicky.

Since this picture was taken, I misplaced all the characters from Trolley's End.  My great nephew, aged 3 was coming to visit and in my haste to "secure" the area, I put all the klickies in a zip lock bag.  I didn't think about them for about a week, then couldn't find them anywhere.  I have been searching everywhere, but to no avail.  I thought I may have thrown the bag in the trash by mistake.  :o  After many prayers to St. Anthony over the weeks, I found them in the storage room under an old quilt.  I searched that room several times, but never thought to look under the quilt which had been placed in there in my haste to clean up before company (you should see what is in the closets and areas under every bed!  )  Anyway thought I would share a happy ending with you all.  :)

So pleased you found them Joe, it's upsetting when you can't find something and think you may have thrown it away.
I must admit I too have had reason to call on St Anthony many times over the years.   :)

Glad you found them sure they mean a lot to you I know that feeling always losing something and wondering where the heck it's got to and hoping it'll turn up in it's own time, can be very frustrating. I did a good trick once lost my locker key on the way home from work, supervisor gave me a spare next day and I said I'd get another made up at the keycutters at the end of the day I couldn't find it, thank goodness I'd only been working in the Greenhouses and yard outside our cabin that day otherwise I'd have been searching the entire gardens, went back and forth several times over the area and was sitting down at the end of the day taking off my wellies and waterproof trousers, expressing my despair at not being able to find it and losing 2 keys in 2 days low and behold a klink as I take off my wellies must have been somewhere between my waterproof trousers and wellies left my Supervisor a note saying not to carry out his suggesstion of breaking into my locker  ;D :-[.

By the way have been really been enjoying the group photos so far some really amazing ones may have to post a photo of my small but, growing group at some point  :)

There's one pirate with angry eyebrows, but I haven't checked to see if he is smiling or not under his facial hair. But other than that, everyone is indeed smiling.

Thats a nice picture, good to see the victorian photographer being on it too instead of taking it.  :)
I considered having him take the picture, but seeing as he is the newest townsmember, this is his first group photo ever, so I thought he should be included.

Really? Wow. Lucky him (and you)

You need to get him hair ;)

Yes, I know, but unfortunately I don't have extra hair pieces... He will have to be bald for some time.

Great collection!

Here are my clickies. it's not a big, rare collection like Ismene's and the others (great collections by the way!) but I still quite like it :)
I think the same thing about other collections I see here; some are huge. Mine is mostly from when I was a kid, so lots of 90's klickies.

Pickup is an appropriate name for a klicky you picked up. I hope you can find him some hair soon.

Well, email me or pm your address, I'll send you a couple! Can't have a bald guy like that!

We had one for a short time, we made a wig out of cotton... Then one rainy day my sister saw a playmohair on the mud.. she took a couple more steps and... "wait! Thane has no hair!" - so she went back and got it out... It was messed up some, but back in the day we didn't have any extras, so... Then it was replaced when we got more...

Yep :)   I'm sure we still have the old cotton wig somewhere in one of those pastic cylinder box things the camera film came in..

I remember having a bald klicky. NOT good.

Thanks all for the nice comments. Great minds do think alike bb.

Hey Ras, i got two of these signs with a small greenish western buildinglot i bought off ebay a couple of years ago. It actually a double sided sign. Not only can you be a blaacksmith but a lawyer too!  It is made of thick cardboard. I dont know if this was from a set other than PM. I dont know. But i think it fits great.

If you can't find one, it should be easy enough to make. The text can be done on Photoshop, then print on sticker paper and apply to thick cardboard, Coroplast or thin plywood.

I really have to try. I have so many building that are the same and it looks dumb in a large diorama. I keep seeing the stickers on auction from the guy in Mexico and do like those but they are expensive. I like seeing ideas, fonts, designs and am getting a good idea of how they should look. Watching old western movies is helping also.  I did not even think of a law firm for a western dio and if it is accurate I will have to make one of those as well. I mean how many darn saloons and sheriffs offices do you need.

My only hesitation is to put a new sticker on top of the original. I some times curse my puritist ways
Title: Re: Post group pictures of your clickies!
Post by: Ismene on October 05, 2012, 09:41:11
I wouldn't put a sticker on top of the original either. And you shouldn't have to. You just need some sort of board to put the sticker on.

What's the measurements of these things anyway?
Title: Re: Post group pictures of your clickies!
Post by: Ismene on October 05, 2012, 10:24:54
I clearly have too many fonts on my hands.

My interpretation (Proportions are rough.)

Ras, I've been seeing those sticker sheets from the guy in mexico too, and I'm tempted by them, they do look pretty good.

I kind of wish we could keep our klickies up on a shelf like that. With the boys they are pulling them down and spreading them all over the palce. They are great about cleaning up but its not the same when you see them as you left them.

Great shelf Panos.

Wow, great collection! Also the older ones; the pirate captain from the first pirate ship, the first 'fatty' (also a pirate captain); the chrome knights... beautiful! And your avatar on the first shelf.. And the sorcerer on the 5th... that's still a must have for me!

One remark: On the third shelf, on the right behind the vikings I see the 'Sultanswache'.. one of my favourites. It should have a more prominent position.. that one is so beautiful.

Don't let them get too dusty or be spoiled by the light!

Just a thought from the last page. Would it help anyone if I made some text-based signs in Photoshop for western shops or whatever, and then anyone who wanted to use them could request the PDF and print them at home?

My own customs are stalled for the time being (lack of parts), but I have hundreds of fonts on my computer.

Ok, I'm finally getting around to doing this. These are all my zoo visitor klickys, lined up waiting for the zoo to open. I think my zoo visitors are ultimately my favorite klickys; I love searching out new modern klickys and arranging them into families or groups. I've put more energy into acquiring and sometimes customizing these than any others, they just make me smile for some reason. So here they are:

That's my very special klicky. He's an injection molding error; his eyes and mouth are blonde like his hair. He takes a little getting used to, but I think he's adorable. For some reason, he looks like an albino to me, maybe because albinos have blonde eyelashes, so I put him with a black family to make that intent more obvious.
