Title: Evolution of Klickies?
Post by: cardensb on January 29, 2012, 22:05:02
Has anyone done an "evolution" chart like you see that starts with stone age man and goes to current times?
I could see using a stone age man, Egyptian, Roman, Knight or Viking, Red Coat, Victorian, Cowboy or US Civil War, modern family man...
I would do it but I don't collect all the different eras.

I was thinking more along the line of the one picture that has several outlines of "man" starting from an ape going though a homo this guy and homo that guy to present day man instead of a book.
I googled him and found the book and some other pictures by him.  Very good stuff.

there is actually a picture showing the evolution from an ape to a current man in one of the first pages - back in the day there wasn't a stonage theme, so making a time line these days would turn out much better 8-)

Evolution

Eminent Playmologists have concluded, irrefutably, that the evolution of klickies will result in a superior species of gifted beings. They will develop ears, nose, supraorbital ridge, sclera, lips, elbows, fingers, opposable thumbs, knees, toes, independent lower-limbs motion and... no empty head!!!

I'd rather skip the second to last phase then and go straight to turning into Klick Kong.

Maybe someone could also make an evolution chart of the clicky history? something that shows the introduction of female clickies, children, red hair, beards, painted faces, first shoes, moveable hands, fat clickies, eastern clickies, black clickies, tanned clickies, etc?

We're still wading through the whole site here and trying to catch up, so please forgive us for bumping some older threads, just got to this one and love it!  :) This has triggered an idea that unless we have a really serious lottery win, we will never have the time, space or money to do, the evolution of a town/city, starting with a stone age settlement, working up through the Romans, vikings, knights, redcoats, etc, up to modern times, the layout of the settlement changing and expanding at each stage, from a cave near a river/stream up to high rise buildings, not just 1 display but 1 for each stage, I'm getting way way too many ideas for projects here!  :) Thanks for this thread, really enjoyed it  :)
