The first post is pure speculation from the guy who annouced in the same way e.g. an El paso/South of the border theme one or two years ago. This year he announces among other things in the last line a reduction of the agent theme while geobra announced Top Agents 2 a few days later. The post with the chinese imperial theme you are referring to (top of page 3) is a ironic reaction to the statements of a few enthusiasts. Someone else offers predictions of the 2020 novelties too.

But no pics, right?

(without any details, I'm not looking forward to bendable arms.... I could change my mind..)

There are some pics somewhere.  I'll see if I can find them.

It would be interesting to compare past predictions for given years with what actually happened.  My impression is that these are "these are the things we would like to see Playmobil introduce" plus speculation based on how long it is since a "traditional" theme such as construction was last revised.

That's a good one Mike. Lol!  Hey folks, the world is supposed to end in December of this year, so it don't matter what's coming out in 2013. Lol

I must be in a thick moment... Can't seem to find the pics :(

(and the end of the world was cancelled here - Portugal doesn't have the means to host such a large scale event!)

ohmygoodness we just saw this year's novelties in Germany and there's already a list of speculated sets for 2013?! :hmm: :o  give us a freaking break!!!

anyway, thanks for the info and translation!
a ninja theme sounds VERY exciting, as well as the movie making theme! 8-)
i'm not thrilled about the others :P I just hope that a ninja theme doesn't modify the klickies' anatomy (i.e. bendable arms, kicking legs, etc) otherwise I'd stop buying the new sets

It appears that some people out there actually believe that these 2013 themes are official Playmobil ones and, if they aren't, will no doubt be very disappointed/annoyed.  May be this is a disadvantage of having FB sites for companies.

that is true, Gordon

i think it's too early to anticipate, let's live the present and enjoy calmly what we are offered every year  - whatever will be will be ;D

yeah, like those speedo legs - they're ok for swimsuited klickies but now they're taking over, even the newest indian figures have them... :-\

WoT: I, too, vote for anything Asian...don't care whether it is realistic or not. Yall can always build all the realistic characters and sets you want.

Samurai, temples, fortresses, teahouses, gardens, boats, bicycle/rickshaw combos like you see in Beijing these around Houhai just north of the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, terra cotta type warriors, dragon kites, geisha, silk stores, palaces, horses, mah jong sets, tai chi enthusiasts and ballroom dancers (like you find in all the public parks), butcher stores, electric motorbikes, communal baths, restaurants with rice bowls, soy sauce and chopsticks, and families with more than one plain Asian face please. Let 'er rip, Pgal

In the last hundred years, yes.  Well, PMB has never been particularly historically accurate, so I suppose it will work.   :(
However, I'm just not real keen on mixing cultures like that.

btw i read somewhere in another translation that there'd be a new child size (a "4-year-old one") whose size would be between the current child and the baby ???

I would love that. I've been wishing for a long time they would do at least one more kid size. I think one between the current size and adult would be great, kind of a tween. I'm tired of every family in my zoo having kids the exact same age.

i actually like to have standard sizes - playmobil has always had this 'complex simplicity' that makes more sizes unnecessary to me ???

No, since the 12th century. (Maybe before then even, I can check.)
The wars were based in Korea, but they featured Japanese and Chinese troops.
