The new cats set from the farm series
(http://animobil.info/playmo/5126-1.jpg)
The basket is the same one that's been around a long time but it has a new cloth piece that fits inside. Also new is the ball of yarn for the kitties to play with, and the printed pitcher and plate.

The kittens are the same ones that have been around a while but the cats are new molds.
Here they are seen next to the older cats. The laying cat has the green eyes so it doesn't look like it's sleeping the way the old laying cat did. The black walking cat has an odd body shape.

While it looks a little odd by itself the shape goes nicely when placed next to a klicky, like it's rubbing against the klicky's legs.

Here's the set together

I give this one a mixed review. I really like the new accessories, the pitcher, cat basket cover, and ball of yarn. I don't like the cats though, they just don't work for me and are the very rare Playmo animal that just isn't right. You wont be seeing them showing up in any of my stories any time soon, I will continue using the older cat styles.

Thanks for the review, Tim! Nice to see some better pictures of those cats. I thought that walking cat looked really odd. Nice to see a better picture of it. The accessories are nice, though.
-
I like most of them, but I agree that the strange positioned black one is a little difficult to get used to :-\. Thank you for sharing this close up review of this new version with us, Tim!
-
I love this set! And what a nice pitcher! Thanks for the excellent review.
-
Great review, and indeed the position of one of the blck cats you have to get used to. My real cats however walk a lott like that around my leg, especially when thwir hungry!! :)
-
They look a little crrepy with those eyes, but they are very cute
-
Thank you for a great review Tim.
Like you I love the accessories especially the blanket for the basket.
I don't mind the shape of the walking cat when placed next to a klicky, but I think it's eyes make it look evil :0

Great pics!
Did anyone notice that the back pic on the official sites has the cat's eye on his butt?
And thank you for figuring out the BRILLIANT use of that cat's position... Waiting for mine...

Thanks for the review Tim, once again !!! I find the green eyes that are dotless a bit alien if ask me , rather spooky !!! Playmobil as i said in a prev post ( in dogs' review by Sir Tim) has it all wrong with eye designs for animals in my opinion and i dont udenrtsand why, surely everyone can see these green hollow cat eyes look very alien if you ask me !!! alien cats !!!

Tim, thanks for the review and the close up pictures. have to agree about the eyes, they are strange, maybe painting a bit of a black pupil would improve them. I would love to see some other breeds of cats in the future, i.e. Siamese, Persian, Scottish Fold, maybe even a calico. They seem to be doing such a grand job with the new dog breeds that will be coming out soon. I can't wait.

Now that I look at them again, the black one reminds me of a certain cat in a award winning short story... already having new photostories working in my head ;D
-
Thanks for the review, Tim ! I like this set simply because it's cats . The green eyes actually look pretty realistic, like they're set back into the cat's face a little. I'll be getting a few of these for sure!

The new donkey is light grey and it's eyes are narrow and of a draker grey... really awefull and looks devilish! :(
I love the old donkey's!
-
yeah the new donkeys are ugly imo, i too prefer the old ones
back on topic - thanks for the review, Tim. I reaaally like the new white cat! i wish they had made a walking one too
the black cat in the middle (1st pic) has a dog position ???
the one on the right had an odd position indeed - maybe a little unnecesary
i like the new eyes, perfect for halloween scenes 8-)

Thanks for the review, Tim! I'm jealous.
I just added another set to my Playmo wish list. ;)
-
they are cute , a must !!!!!! :) :) :)
-
Thanks Tim! Liking the basket with blanket. Clever thinking about the cat being shaped to wind its way around legs!

Oh, How Lovely!
I think the eyes are proper for a feline ... Cats are a bit (naturally) scary all right :yup:
Very good! :)

Thank you for another excellent review, Tim.
I must say that the eyes are wrong, too slanty and elongated and they need a pupil in. I'm not sure, either, that green is such a common eye colour for cats. None of the last three cats I've had have had green eyes, for example.
For something really different, for the white cat they could have produced an Ankara cart. These have one green eye and one blue eye, and about the right eye shape:

The walking black cat is doing the "feline weave". Cats appear to love walking in front of you weaving from side to side especially if you are carrying a tray with things on which obscures your view of where the cat is!
-
Oh, I know! Our last cat was just terrible about it, and no matter how many times he got kicked, stepped on, or tripped over (unintentionally of course) he never got it that standing in front of the feet of someone who is walking is a bad idea....
-
we need toys for our playmo cats
Gordon is right about the pupils

I know this walk well, Gordon!

I'm laughing because I guess it's so .. expected that this thread will end up in off-topic conversation that it's almost impossible to expect otherwise ... :P
