.... a new steck castle !!!!!! No suprises there i am sure ...
Merry Christams All !!! I hope Santa brings us a new revised steck castle fully compatible with the old with a much bigger round tower, revised windows , revised tiles ( darker red i would say ) and a new double gate , also a new fortification design preobably a bit taller than current and more detailing in the castle houses etc . Such a set will probably then ignite more revised steckl medieval houses to come out !!!! and a revised Nuremberg guard !!!
Alleluja !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to see a larger round tower as well, with the floorboard leaving an opening for curved stairs going down. Needs an open side in the tower as well to play inside it, this way the tower counts well for interiour as well and can have some beds for the guards in there.
Living space could also be a bit bigger than one steck house. Could have a throne room and two side rooms, one with a bed for the king and queen and the other being a kitchen.
Maybe it would be an idea for all of us to design "new" steck sets as they could appear in stores with the steck and medieval figures we have and post pictures of that?
It might really help Geobra to see such pictures. :)
Complete with accesoires and everything, and roughly around the budget, not becomeing too big for stores.

I agree the old round tower is GORGEOUS.
It's a very stupid fault of the 3666 box - it leaves the best part of the set almost invisible...
-
I agree that a new Steck castle would be really nice for collectors. I also agree that some new Steck pieces would really be a nice Christmas present for Steck collectors across the world :xmascheer:! However, what I'd like to see as a System-X and Steck fan is a castle that takes the symplicity and realism of the Steck system and the creative possibilities of System-X.
Ace :cracker:

No surprise there George. Lol. Well they could start by releasing a four way grey steck connector.
-
if they did reproduce one, my local toyshops would have none laft in matter of hours
-
...would be a Royal Navy trimaster with at least 12 guns below deck, based on a longer 3940 (US 3286) ship! ;D ;)
-
oh yes - bring it on - I would be so happy!

Yes, me too! I new version would be nice because, well, I don't have one of the original 3666's, and I'd like something more accessible. ;D

The best set in the world would probably be the one where PM finally moves on with the times and starts doing licenses. ::) ::) ::)
A PM millenium falcon would be awesome.

A PM millenium falcon would be awesome.
LEGO got the licence rights for Star Wars , i doubt this will ever possibly happen , though it would be great but also very epxensive for playmobil given the bespoke parts they would have to create , most from scratch .....
I love star wars and no doubt i would go bananas if playmobil ever created stormtroopers , i think i would buy at least a 1000 the day they would become available ...   BUT realistically i would prefer a decent space theme . No, i wasnt impressed at all from the ugly system x spaceships and nor from the avatar copies / lookalikes of today . Sorry but the old playmospace was far more popular and respected as a toy whne released , i dare to say also educational in some respects. Playmobil as i suggested to them and NASA , with letters more than a year ago failed to put a klicky aboard any of the shuttle missions and thats a shame . LEGO on the otehr hand put three of their figures into a satellite so LEGO is in space as we speak . Playmobil should have collaborated with NASA and creates something realistic , a space shuttle ( now obsolete so too late now ) , a launch station, a rocket launcher, a satellite, even a lunar module / apollo 11 - i think they have failed greatly to grasp the 40th anniversary opportunity of the first humans on the moon in 2009 ; i wrote to playmobil about this but i never got a reply same as my email to them and NASA about a klicky in space. Plenty of space toys and alien toys BUT no NASA / science toys / playmobil has missed a great opportunity here i think. ANd such a set would be a greater than a 3666 revised ( did i say this??? really ??? )

I would love it! But make it two cannon decks, so 24 cannons should be no problem (they can use the fake ports for the lower deck - I wouldn't mid)
This would be really cool. It could me a collectors item - selling for 400-500 EUR.
I would sell my Steck to George for financing (... And then get a dozen of these ships...)
Season's greetings,

Licenses are no fun, plenty of games and movies to enjoy such settings in already.
I'd rather see playmobil staying the toy that inspires children their imagination instead of being like lego and dictating the child how to play. Thats pretty much what licensed sets do.
Much better for playmobil to develop their own space theme, I already made a topic about that so feel free to add ideas there. :)

I can see where you're coming from, but I do not agree. Hasbro had been doing Star Wars for decades, but still ... Lego gave the license a new lease of life. And if you look at what fans are coming up with ... the Star Wars customs they create, there is still plenty of scope for letting the imagination run wild. Obviously they would be very expensive ... but so is Lego (the millenium falcon is c.150 euro and hardly the most expensive set) but people still buy them.
There would still be the regular set, mind you ... but it would be within a more structured 'thing', like Lego's Kingdoms (or whatever it's called) knights theme, which as far as I'm concerned is a thousand times better than PM's current Middleages effort.
*sighs*
I think I'm crossing over to the dark side. I bought a Star Wars set last week and I'm looking forward to more, especially since I bought all the current PM sets I am interested in and still have some pocket money left.

But the children won't be doing the customizing though aside from a few rare exeptions. Its pretty much only adults that do the customising.
Star wars playmobil could indeed be interesting, mostly because they can portray the familiar characters much much better, but it would not be smart to do it because lego has already been doing it very succesfully for many years.
What I would like to see them do though, would be making a large space ship set in a similar way to star trek. With a bridge and various rooms and hallways.
If they ever do get the star wars license it would be best if Playmobil puts more effort into their own space themes. Lego does have a history of succesfull space themes before star wars after all. They took a dive in later years, but still had way more succesfull space themes than playmobil.
The large UFO from the late 90's from lego is a true marvel for example.. I own that set.
It has a small saurcer that can be removed to reveal an exploration wagon inside, which can be taken out by a mechanic arm and magnets. There is also a smaller exploration vehicle under a hatch at the side.
Playmobil does show some good ideas here and there, but they never really manage to embrace its full potential.
Lego really outdid them in pretty much every way when it comes to the space theme, I really got to say that space is playmobil's weakness.
Not even the rubbish later space sets aside from star wars that Lego released can erase the high quality sets released in the 80's and 90's.
-
Personally I think that Playmobil is much better suited to do Star Trek than Star Wars the Playmo-Space line has always felt more like that... as we have seen with Wolf Knight's customs/photostory...

Yes ... and I also think there's a market for a more expensive and larger set. There's Lego star wars sets that cost 400 bucks and people still buy them. I think PM should be more ambitious.
-
I'm sorry, but I don't understand the craze of licensed themes. In my opinion, they limit the child's creativity because children are more likely to recreate a certain scene from Star Wars or Spongebob Squarepants...etc. Whereas if you release a space theme that is not based on anything, except for the child's imagination, you get a diverse playing experience. <*)
Just my two cents... :2c:

What about the Snow White and the Hansel and Gretel PM sets? Did those hamper a child's creativity?
What about the Santa and elve blister pack? Is there any other use for a Santa and an elve, apart from the obvious ;D
Just sayin', you know ...
I think that licensing should not be thought as detrimental to a company. As I said, Lego does good licensing, but it also does awesome 'in-house' stuff like the Medieval theme etc.

I'm not crazy about any of those.
I'm against licensing. Think about it.... it wouldn't be a one-time novelty, and we'd still keep getting all our unlicensed stuff, too. If they did licensed star wars or star trek, we'd most likely never have a regular, unlicensed space theme again. Have a pirates of the carribean theme, and we can forget just having generic pirates to make our own creative customs with. I think it would be the end of playmobil as we know it. :(

i remembered , its that horrid flying sucer with the green fluoresent antenas .. horrible ....i dont like legos at all, playmobil is far superior and if they get a bit smarter and more comeptitive they will bring back steck , enhance it and use it further as a construction system . i want more steck !!!!!

True, that.
Then again, what is 'playmobil as we know it'? Is it classic 70s Playmobil? Is it 'Golden Era' Playmobil? Or is it the current, flagging Playmobil?
