Here's my playmo version of the glam/pop Swedish group Army Of Lovers. Popular in the late 80's and early 90's.

thanks Elaine, for bringing to our attention...I had to do a double-double take :-[ :P
and mG....I do not have the girl's black torso...is there one with so much low cut that there's space still for adding a black lace at the top? or did you paint some flesh underneath?

Great looking figures, the shell use is brilliant
-
Indeed!!! I haven't noticed it until Elaine said it! Good one Emgee!

Very nice!! :elf:

Wow! Never heard of this band, but those really are cool customs!
Way to go! :rudy: :rudy: :rudy:

Nice customs!
I remember seeing this band on MTV back in the 80's, but I was a little kid and didn't know what to make of the guys in drag, and the woman appearing half-dressed (no skirt)...I did, however, find the lady singer oddly attractive. :-[

The girl's torso is from this figure http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2014%202810
It was originally blue with some designs on it. I just covered the decolletage with some tape and spray painted the rest in black/gray.

Thanks Elaine... I almost used a gold coin instead. But the shell gives it a more sophisticated feel.

Great! IIIIIII crucifieeeeee... I can almost hear them singing! Well done!
-
Excellent customs! Thanks for sharing!
BTW, did "Army of lovers" make it beyond "I'm crucified"? Not so sure...
A Boy George custom anyone?
Best,
Arnaud

I remember being confused about the guy on the left in the early ninetees when they where a guest at a dutch program and I was still a kid. I wasnt sure if it was a man or a woman, might have been the first time I saw a guy in drag.

The girl's torso is from this figure http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30%2014%202810
thanks for your explanation EmGee!
its also interesting to know that Geobra takes the trouble to print on the hidden legs under those what-you-call skirts-held-up-by-frames :P
while for male klickies, torsos have belts only printed in front especially if they are covered with another piece of vest/coat...
is it because kids are exoected to play with these ladies in dress-down fashion too? (sorry for digressing) :rudy: :rudy: :rudy:

BlackPearl2006 you are not the only one to love the woman from Army of Lovers
:lens: On November 3, 2010, the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet published excerpts from a book about the Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, Den Motvillige Monarken ("The Reluctant Monarch"), claiming that he had a year-long love affair with Henemark in the late 1990s
