Good topic Alex!!!

Mine was 3236x - Fire Truck #6

It was in kindergarden early 1980's...Christmas time and, as I've learned much much later, the teachers asked parents to get  a christmas present for their children. They would stage a party and then ''santa claus'' would give them their presents!!!

I was given this great fire engine!!!! Was so happy!!! (after that Gordon would think...where did this boy go wrong? His first playmobil is a fire engine and he turns to knights?   )

But my happiness lasted for a few seconds as my best friend got 3536 - Space Station I was so envious!!! But the next day i was given a 3234x - Fire Fighter Crew! A single fire fighter could not make much of a difference, my father said back then...

Years have past and the fire engine was given to my niece and nephew, as my parents were trying to make me get over childhood... But I could never forget of my friend getting the space station.... when DS reissued the fire engine 7786 - Fire Engine I was so happy to get it again!!!

Oh, I also got a space station last year from antex (which is good quality btw)... But it was not a great match against the happy hours of playing with the fire engine!!!

This is a goodtopic also Alex!

My first playmobil set was 3189!  http://playmodb.org/setpics/3189.jpg

I had got my first playmobil on Christmas!  This had been my only playmobil until I got 3258 motorhome! http://www.collectobil.com/catalogue/items/3258.htm  Then I grew up and my collection started growing.

These were my only two playmobils, but I had some many hours of fun.

Mine where the first edition construction workers, in the little black cardboard boxes with the clear sleeve around them. I had the flu and was home from school. 1974 it must have been.

Hello

To tell you the truth I can not even remember what the last set I bought was let alone the first set I had a few years ago  8} I am amazed at some of your memory capabilities . I seem to only think about all the sets I do not have but I sure need them

My very first set was (almost certainly) this Playpeople set, number 1730, and I probably received it for my 10th Birthday in 1976, or possibly as a Christmas present. I remember well these figures and their color combination, the canoe and cooking pots, buckets, ladle peace pipe.

The cowboy sitting on the right became my favorite, and I carried him around with me everywhere. I added some knights and some construction workers to my collection later, but the cowboys remained my favorite. As I was already closing on the "retirement" age of 12 by the time Playpeople hit the UK market, I never got much more, and never had any vehicles or buildings. My klickies were "donated" to my mother's school (she was a headmistress) without my knowledge while I was away at University.

Many thanks to Julie (Gyps on PF) and Richard for saving all the Playpeople set pictures here
