Very nice - I'd be happy to get them, especially the woman, but the man is excellent, too.

I think they're supposed to be magical/arabian nights type figures. He's a magician hence the stars, she's a genie or similar. I hesitate to call her a belly dancer as that's basically saying she's an erotic dancer which isn't a good mix with a children's hospital. They're called harem pants for a reason. Nice figures though and I'd still like to see a fat visier type character.
Something like this:

Emir of Bukhara (1911) (https://twistedsifter.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/rare-color-photos-of-the-russian-empire-1900s-by-sergey-prokudin-gorsky-10.jpg?w=800&h=692)

Thanks for sharing, Tahra and thanks for monitoring Amclicks, which seems to be the site for PM news!

Are these figures supposed to be medics in costume, so children in hospital find them less intimidating, along the lines of the Cliniclown and similar figures?

Of course, seen on THAT site, with the source being Amclicks as is usual lately :(

I think so.

Why would you want your doctor to dress up as a wizard?  ???

Actually I grew up watching reruns of 'I Dream of Jeannie' and even as a kid I realised there was something special about Barbara Eden's character.

This has to be correct. There's no other possible explanation.
