Vintage "Eskimo"-sets!
« on: June 17, 2016, 10:23:43 »
I have a real fondness for the classic "Eskimo"-sets from the 80's, and I think I have finally obtained enough material to construct a little settlement.
I love these sets because they are so simple, yet extremely effective.

That looks great! I love these sets too. I have the kayak and a dogsled but only the figures that came with them (and the new Eskimo lady from the Figures). Would love to have the igloo. They really need to re-release these as add-ons some time.

I agree! The igloo would sell extremely well! The figures are fairly easy to find on eBay but most used igloos have yellowed from age.

Sadly most of the figures sold are incomplete, or very pricey.......

These sets do look great, as you say very simple but strong, clear designs. And an educational cultural theme.

The reappearance of an Eskimo lady (Inuette?) in the recent Fi?ures bodes well for a rerelease.

And the white rocks really add to the theme!

That's the case with mine :(  I'm thinking of painting it to get it back to white.

I've got a couple little pieces missing from my dog sled but to this day that is still one of my favorites.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one :)

Like so much early Playmobil.  Increasingly, Playmobil seems to be losing that simple effectiveness.

Look forward to seeing your project develop.
