New Hook System
« on: August 09, 2008, 04:44:25 »
As part of the recent Target releases is a new attachment system that I haven't seen before.
They are small hooks that clip onto the pegs on clothing or a new saddle piece.
Here is a picture of a horse with the new saddle attachment. The bag that looks like a saddle bag is the same pouch that has appeared with Medieval Klickies in the past as a belt pouch. Here it is hooked onto the side of the saddle with the new system.

In this photo you see the saddle - the circus acrobat saddle making a reappearance. The black piece in the center is the attachment that connects to the acrobat saddle handle.T0 the left is one of the hooks still attached to the bag, to the right is the hook piece by itself.

Here is a better shot of the small pieces. It is potentially very useful since it can fit on some clothing as well as the saddle piece, and will hold things made for a Klicky to hold such as weapons or shields.

An interesting development, and some clever thought on the part of the designers.

Yes it will Rob.

As I responded to your post on Playmoboard, Tiermann, the hook itself isn't new, it's been used in a number of knight sets, and can be found on Playmodb as part 30 24 7320. Heather calls it a clip, which is probably why you haven't spotted it before.

The Y-shaped saddle attachment IS new as far as I know, and adds variation to the saddle-pack.

That is pretty cool. I hadn't seen this hook/clip thingie before. 8-)

It's nice to see that little pouch is back in a new colour too. That's a very useful accessory as it can be placed in the hand of a klicky as well as clipped to a belt. :yup:

Thanks for the pics, Tim! :)

Thanks for the extra info and pics, Tim.  Maybe it could be used for saddle bags or pinion bags on  asuitably adapted bike or motorcycle.

I like those additional features...
hmm, are these saddles identical with the ones from the circus?

Its a good thing to have them on the horses, as I always felt that there are way not enough handles on playmo-horses...  :hmm:

Are these saddles coming from the same mould as the old artistic ones?

Hi Tim!

I'm curious, does the hook come apart from the bag to where a Klicky can hold it in his hand?  Thanks for the pics.

Rob

Hi Rob!

It isn't the first time I see the bag ... Only in that colour, though, all right.

Interesting, I guess I'd missed that.
Yes Socrates, it's teh same saddle as the old one. I got out my old circus one and they are identical except for decoration.

The clip system is good in that it adds variation but I don't know that I like it completely in practical application.  It does allow the new green and red dragon knights to carry a ton of accessories on their backs or on the horses, but the shields stick out unnaturally IMHO when clipped in.  And I worry the softish plastic may lose some of it's grip on the tiny peg with repeated removals and twisting.  Such a small thing to gripe about though.

It does allow for a "packed and loaded" for the battle look.
