Title: 3185 and 3352 aeroplane
Post by: playmofire on July 04, 2009, 20:45:20
Can anyone tell me if the wheels and tyres for the above planes come as separate items.  On playmoDB, on the text only parts list with quantities, the tyres and wheels are listed as separate items each with their own part number but no quantities are given for the tyres.  On the small picture of the plans, it is unclear whether the tyres need putting on to the wheels.

Hi Gordon!
According to my instructions of sets 3185, & 3352, the wheels, & tires are separate in sets 3185,3187,3352,5726. You will need 2 x 30820980 small tires, 2 x 30226960 small wheels for the front, 4 x 30824140 large tires, 4 x 30226970 large wheels for the rear. I hope this helps you in your quest!

Thanks Bill.  Looking at the part numbers you've quoted, they are for 5726 and that does show wheels and tyres separate and that's interesting as 3185 and 3352 show them as a single unit.  I will order separately just in case.

I can tell you that they are actually separate for the yellow, & white 3185 jet liner, as when I assembled mine I was required to put the 6 sets of them together! The small tires measure .079 inch OS diameter, & the large tires measure 1 inch OS diameter.

Since my previous post I've been thinking, Bill, and I've remembered that when  I ordered some rear wheel sets for Tim_w we found out just that - just the wheels came!  So I shall follow your advice to the letter.   :wow:

Hi Bill and Gordon,

Just trying to make sure I get this straight, as I can see I need to rename a few things.  I have two sets of plans for 3185, one of which is also labeled 3352.  They both show only the assembled wheels, so I would think that ordering 30 82 4150 and 30 82 4160 will get you wheels and tires of both sizes. (3187 is the same.) Doesn't mean they will come assembled, of course.  I'd also like to see the 3185/3187/3352 plans that show the separate parts, just to have sources on hand for all my info.  My copy of the 5811 plans shows the parts separately, as does 5826, although the rims of the latter wheels are yellow.  4311 uses the smaller rims and tires for the passenger ramp; 4310 uses the larger tires and its own rims.  Any corrections or additions to all that?

By the way, in the text/quantity list, parts without quantities are either unverified, plain versions of printed parts (often show up in the Ersatzteile pages on playmobil.de) or newer versions of parts that don't show on the original instructions.  Don't take as gospel anything that doesn't have a quantity.  If there are no plans for the set at all, usually what you see there is my best guess.

Hi Heather,
I'm totally confused now! I am looking at an actual instruction sheet for the 3185/3352 yellow, & white jet liner, & I do not see the 30824150 or 30824160 part numbers you have referred to listed anywhere. My instruction copies for my 6 jet liners, 4x 3185, & 2x 5726 I have, only list wheels, & tires separately!  ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
BTW, these instruction photos will be removed from this topic with in 48 hours.

Gord, that sounds wisest, and here's why.  Bill, the part number for your plans is the same as the one in my inventory - 30 89 6870 - Instructions for 3185 and 3352 (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-89-6870) - but the date of printing is different: mine is 02.02 and yours is 06.05/04.06!  They revised the plans to show the updated parts but didn't change the number.  Sometimes I think they're going to just drive me crazy instead of suing me re: copyright: same result, cheaper on the lawyers.
