He looks great imo, and I love how they keep releasing these museum exclusives. It contributes to the brand in a very good way.
-
This one s great. A very good combination of printing and molding to add the right amount of detail on the klickies
-
Goethe comes to The Netherlands

You can better try this link, (https://buchen.thueringen-tourismus.de/ttgshop/artikel/detail/TTG00020050035615985?tt=pqlba75acos2qpec323vambss1) I was only charged 2,99 Euro for the figure and 4,00 Euro shipping cost.

Wonderful figure. I wonder if anyone will do a group buy on it for us?
-
Auch die Kultur, die alle Welt beleckt
Hat auf den Klicky sich erstreckt!
A fantastic figure! Very excellently done.
The trend of cultural figures continues to gain steam! It's only a matter of time before we get Don Quixote, Shakespeare, Attila the Hun? :D
This is what they need to be doing more of, not NHL teams!
I second Tiermann, put me down for a group buy. I can't wait! I'll take six.
PS Thanks Erik for bringing the glad tidings!

The detail of the jewel at the throat, as well as the coat, is taken from this portrait by Stieler, done near the end of Goethe's life:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Goethe_(Stieler_1828).jpg
The hat on the other hand is from the well-known painting by Tischbein, done when Goethe was in his thirty eighth year. The trousers seem to be from this also:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Johann_Heinrich_Wilhelm_Tischbein_-_Goethe_in_the_Roman_Campagna_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg
So a bit of a mix, but I think it's a good call as both these elements strongly evoke the personage, and combine well. And we can always take the hat off!
-
Hey man there was a smiley affixed!!
A smiley next to Attila the Hun!!! 8}... ;D
-
Playmofriends makes it possible.
Googling around, I found a lovely custom of the Tischbein painting on the PCC: http://pcc.pm/photo/goethe?context=featured
Scroll down for an improved version.
-
Did anyone else notice that he has printing on his shoes?
-
I did and I saw that the Tischbein does not show prominent bows. I didn't know what to say about that.
-
notice the detailed printing on the edge of his pants! that's a lot of value for money.
pants color not new right?
and those arms....black?
are they the same with those white frilly sleeves arms on the 'Marquee' looking klicky?
-
The arms seem grey to me, like that pirate from the figures..

ah...not black(more versatile) ....pirate not Marquee?! :P
-
Yes there is a lot of paint there. It's a pretty high value klicky for the price I think.

Und das mit Recht; denn alles, was entsteht,
Ist wert, daß es zu Klicky geht!

I got mine yesterday. Very nice figure, but here I want to highlight its bookish quality.
The book obviously is a very welcome part. It faithfully reflects the first full edition of Faust I that appeared in Tübingen (at Cotta’sche Verlagsbuchhandlung) in 1808:

And there is a nice small leaflet included with information about Goethe's and PM's connection with Thuringia. The figure was produced for a Thuringian public body, after all.

Ich bin der Geist, der stets verklickt!
(yes I know verklicken doesn't mean what I want it to mean: "to deal with klickies")
-
To klicky, or not to klicky:
That's the question!
(probably not Goethe )

Approach the brink serenely and accept the risk of melting into nothingness
Good advice for any Klinky ;) from Dr Faust

Arrived!!!!

I'm not sure how long this has been the case, but this set is available through the website if people want him!
