Special specials, dragon knights from the supermarket
« on: June 10, 2010, 21:39:52 »
Has anybody seen these before?

These two knights were issued by a supermarket here in Holland. There were some others as well, but I wasn't interested in these, so I didn't get them. You had to save coupons and stickers and there was also a book for these stickers. I'm not really sure how that worked. The supermarkt chain was not in my area and I got them from the internet.

The red one was issued before, for a toy fair, I think. The other one isn't from any other sets, as far as I can tell.

They came in a plastic bag with a little booklet, the same as with the regular specials.

I have no product numbers, I'm afraid.

Are they available elsewhere? Or are they unique to Holland?

The red guy on the left comes from the 4835 bigger Dragon tower, the green guy on the right from the smaller 4836 one. At least that's my intial impression, as the round "Sauron's Eye" shield and the cloak with pointed shoulders (worn by the magician) first appeared in those sets afaik. They may not be identical to figures from those sets, I'll have to hike over to my Den to check.

An interesting pair, if these popped up in the US I'd definitely get some. I'm particularly keen on that round red eye shield and the dragonskin armor on the figure.

At a second look, they're unique.

The red dragon rider from 4835 has spiked-shoulder arms and black y-fronts, and the celtic-knot on the right hand guy is not the same dragon face we've seen on this color body before, in fact I much prefer it for a general "Celtic Elf" look.

Let's hope these figures make it into an add-on pack or a blister pack someday.

The gree dragon knight is exactly the same with the one at set 4147 - Drachenfels

This guy 7974 - Red Dragon Leader
, has the same arms as your red dragon knight but different helmet and weapons....

Great spot Wolf Knight!

That set hasn't been released in the US yet, so it's only viewable for me on Playmodb or playmobil.de, along with some other Dragonland sets: 4912, 7480, 7481, and 7972 thru' 7975

I'm wondering if we'll get them a second wave of Dragon World releases, or if they'll never officially hit these shores.

I hope the green guy appears here as a special
Or something totally of his own
(but not very expensive) ::)
Because he is a great looking figure,
and I would    to create an Even army,
But not so much a Dagon Kights one... :hmm:
Steck is BACK! <:>

They're replacing the sword with backcurving cross-guard in all sets these days, so if you bought a 4147 chances are it mnight have the straight guard. I recently got a 4670 Crusader with the new straight crossguard. It make it easier for the klicky to hold the sword with cuffs and gloves.
