Slavery in America
« on: January 16, 2006, 20:45:51 »
I'm sure most of you had seen this on the other board, but have now made a display for it. Not a nice scene, i know, but like everything else it's part of the past.

Hi Brian,
It is a sad part of American History, and one that the US does not dwell on.
Because of that racial inequalities are still a problem.

As much, as this part of history is shameful, I think your display is very well done.

I agree with Meg, very well done Brian.  Thanks or showing us.

America isn´t just the US, there was slavery in the Carribean and S. America too.

You've captured a shameful moment in history there.

I belive slavery was common in the Near East too. And the vikings hade slaves, but they were not treated as bad as some of the slaves in USA.

Hello  Brian

It is allways hard to find a way to approach a sensitive subject like this but you have clearly thought it out very carefully and your pictures are very thought provoking.

Kindest Regards  Tim  :)

Hi Brian,

An unusal theme for a custom but it looks ok.

I think it's important that we don't forget things like that from the past, it would make a good educational piece.

Congrats Momo - you did a great job on this issue (including the nice backdrop). I wonder where you keep all your things? You may have to open a World of history through the eyes of Playmobil museum8-)
Cheers

I'll agree, for a controversial topic/low point in history, this set is very well done.
