Title: How to Revive Maisie & Fred's Excellent Adventure
Post by: Wolf Knight on June 26, 2012, 18:55:24
After a recent thread that is very similar to this one, http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=2130.0 and Elaine's comment on it, the mods thought of making this topic a sticky one, so that everyone can see it and find it easily. Here's the topic I mentioned:
http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=11330.msg210743#msg210743

We were thinking of whoever is interested to revive this adventure with their own contribution.  :)

As some people might find it difficult to get hold of Maisie and Fred now, how about suggesting two other klickies - perhaps Maisie and Fred's children/grandchildren who could send their adventures back to Maisie and Fred?
Meanwhile anyone who has Maisie and Fred could still use them.
That way, it wouldn't exclude anyone who doesn't have them.

A very good idea Elaine! Bonniebeth had the same thing in mind.

That's a very good idea.  The travels of Mis Fit reminded me of the Miss Cis story that was on Playmoboard where a figure was shipped round from member to member.

Yes, Elaine, I had this same idea! I think we should select a special to be Maisie and Fred's son or daughter and continue their legacy. That way anyone who doesn't have the right klicky can easily acquire it without a lot of expense. I think having just one klicky might make it easier/cheaper, but then having a couple would make it more interesting, perhaps....

great fun project!!!

So... it is not the actual same clicky going around the world, I mean really travelling by post, but a "common-agreed-on-clicky" photographed in different locations?? right?

Yes, that's right, from what I understand. That's why it might be better to choose one or two that everyone can get their hands on easily. I suggest a special that is new to the export market, so it will certainly be available to everyone for a while, perhaps this one: http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=4754&cgid=Special  I think he's got a lot of character, and could easily be Fred and Maisie's grandson. I can see  him having an interesting perspective, looking for places to skateboard all over the world. ;)

A tamer alternative would be: http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=4744&cgid=Special I really like her.

If she were available worldwide, I'd say the flight attendant was perfect. http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Product-Show?pid=4761&cgid=Special

Bonnie, why not separate the posts about the new "travelling" klickies into a topic of it's own; that may attract more interest and ideas as this is an old topic.

I was thinking the same thing, we're messing up the continuity of this thread by discussing this. I'll split it.

what about bikini girl or the cheer leader as the grandaughter?
I could be fun to use the "bomshell" - "dumb-teenage- blonde" stereotypes  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Other than that the flight attendant I think it is a great idea.  :)

Yeah, I'd been thinking about F?gures, too. The cheerleader is a great idea. Still not quite as easy to get your hands on if you aren't collecting F?gures....

I had the 4754 and 4744 specials in mind too... The 4754 wont be available to us before august... and the flght attendant is also a great idea, but will be available to our market next year...

Was any decision made on this?

Another possibility would be to use Maisie and Fred in different clothes - same hair with the glasses and the cane, but different outfits. If we just find new klickies, then in a few years, we'll run up against the availability problem again.

Now, that's a very good idea! I think all of us can locate that hair, beard and face at least, and most of us probably have the cane, too. It would be realistic for them to be in different clothes on different occasions anyway.

this project would be so cool!

We should have an annual comunity event.... I mean a different one each year. It would make us closer as a community and as friends.

That sounds good Gaston,
Do you have an idea in mind?

well... we could start with Fred and Maisie going around the world for Xmas holidays.
Or some secret Santa for Xmas (or similar, for those who don't celebrate Xmas) and leave Fred and Maisie for the whole 2013.
I volunteer to organise it, I could do it since mid October.  :)

why make it so difficult? Why not let Fred en Maise actually travel the world ?
This shouldn't be too hard, sending two klicky's around the globe.
Especially in a padded envelope or something, so you'd get the same couple everywhere.

F&M with cane and camera, ship them and they can have their next adventure. This would create our own heritage  ;D

Hm, it actually might be fun doing it that way!

I know we have wanted to take M&F on adventures with us but seem to have misplaced them somewhere  When we find them we will start taking pictures again.
