Hi everyone, I was wondering if this visor -> https://playmodb.org/setpics/9/9835.jpg is the same as this ->https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30023290
does anyone have it already?
I think it's the same as this previous set ->https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=9001

It looks like the one from 9001, not the more common one, but cannot yet confirm with the new knight in hand.

Good call, the helmet looks like the one Alex has. Visor is the same from previous sets I think.

No: the old visor is round, this one has a sharp bend, like Alex's. Helmet and visor seem to me to be the newer type, hitherto only available in 9001.

Hadn't noticed that but then I don't have that Alex helmet. Good to see some more variation. Is the Alex visor compatible with the older helmets then?

I don't yet have it either. The helmet is different than the old one (no feather hole), so I doubt that the visors can be exchanged. I hope to be able to tell you soon!

It is the same helmet as the one from Alex in set 9001.
I´ll be able to confirm when(ever) my order arrives, I already bought a few smaller Novelmore sets + some Add-ons last Friday.
(I´m meanwhile still waiting for an online DS parts order to be sent off in Germany, it´s been 2.5 weeks now since I made the order ::) )
Btw;
When I bought set 9001 a few years ago, the helmet came without the visor in the box. I contacted DS Service back then and told them the visor was lacking, the reply was "reason is it is not available anymore". So they sold such sets with the helmet without the visor, I call that fraud. >:(

You have to laugh. You're also right, it is fraudulent that they sell something knowingly without a part. Why didn't they just make more, it's not like they had to source the part from some third party company. I suspect the reply you got though was typical avoidance response when dealing with customer service depts. If they can't find what you're looking for right in front of them they claim it doesn't exist.
Now they're producing them again maybe they'll show up elsewhere, I'm hoping that will be the case for the jesters hats and the pointy cap with feather. I hope they're not going to replace all their historic sets with licenced themes where you can't get any parts for.

I'll back that up with data - the visor is confirmed as part of 9835 - Knights of Novelmore Captain (https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=9835) on the official page for the part https://www.playmobil.de/ersatzteilsuche?q=30038482 (https://www.playmobil.de/ersatzteilsuche?q=30038482) (and the helmet to match, https://www.playmobil.de/ersatzteilsuche?q=30038472 (https://www.playmobil.de/ersatzteilsuche?q=30038472)) and it appears on the instructions for 9001 - Kingsland Dragon with Alex (https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=9001). It has not been on the website for quite some time, hence I missed loading it into the inventory for 9001, but I've added it to both sets now.
That's terrible that sets were shipped without it and it couldn't be replaced!

I bought it when we learned the set (9001) was going to be discontinued, I guess I bought one of the later/last batches produced.
(when unboxing a set I´m always very carefull to get every small part out of the carton and the plastic bags, so I´m 100% sure the visor did not come with the set.)
When contacting DS immediately afterwards, the visor was also not available anymore as a spare part.
So I assume they ran out of the visors during the last production run, didn´t find it necessary to produce some more and sold some of the last sets without it.
Would also explain why it wasn´t available anymore as a spare part, when the set was just on the brink of discontinuation.
Or did they just tell me it wasn´t available anymore, as the visor is part of the helmet and the helmet then belonged to a "licensed" klicky?? :hmm:

Tying in with a recent discussion (https://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=16985.msg306358/#msg306358), I think I can see why a need knight helmet was badly needed. The new one is quite a bit smaller than the previous two models, offsetting, to an extent, the tremendously oversized head of the chicken-legged knight klicky:

Is the Alex visor compatible with the older helmets then?
I tried and found it to be incompatible.

I've got to say: I'm not really sold on its look with the visor down, but with the visor raised, it's totally among the best looking helmets Playmobil ever produced.
As StJohn rightly pointed out, it manages to be way more compact than previous ones, though it still sits on the klicky's hair; I wouldn't mind seeing enclosed helmets that snap directly on the head (like cowabounga's 3D-printed ones did) either.

Good point. They did it for pharaoh, so why not for knights?

Thanks for the update, a pity about the lack of compatibility but the smaller size is better. The visor when down looks dog like from the side I think.

The pronounced snout kinda gives this impression.
