Title: Review:Compact set 4146 Apple Harvest
Post by: highlandcattle on February 14, 2010, 20:34:22
Last year Geobra started with a new series of sets called compact sets. These seem to be a cheaper/smaller variant then the super sets of old. Although I have only purchased one  at the moment. I think  these sets are the bee knees of current playmobil. The construction sit and the seaside set. All very lovely!

As you can see there is a lot of stuff included in this little set!

New parts seem to be: the baseplate and the new branches where you can attach apples or birds!

The only thing that really disappoints me is the colour of the baseplate that is really a shame :(

This baseplate is really handy for making a garden in front of a house.

Thank you highlandcattle for the review, I don't recall seeing these sets around and now I have to look, I love all the details included.   Do you have any set numbers?

I haven't seen this set before and it looks quite a nice set :)
I think it could have been improved as well by using the older design sack truck, as I think the one used looks to modern for the set :-\
I love the pickable apples though

Excellent set review, highlandcattle! I have to agree with you regarding the base plate color which is very disappointing!

Excellent review, HC, although I quite like the green of the baseplate.  It's an apple green and so quite appropriate and I feel a nice change from the darker green used in the past.

I like the detail of the hole in the wall, just ideal for the small goat to stick it's head through.

I have the construction compact set and agree that they offer good value for money and a good starting point to get youngsters interested in Playmobil.

The torso is from special 4665, the rest I honestly don't know.

Thank you all for all the nice comments, it is a great little set!

Hi Highland

That is a great way to use that baseplate. I like how well it worked for your scene. speaking of your scene, to me it looks like the lady is chasing the repair-man out with the rolling pin  Also what is your roof made out of ?

Well he is a lazy man and needs a little encouragement to go to work . ;)

What do you mean by roof? It are just regular steck parts ???

It may be an optical illusion, Ras ...  8}

What you might be seeing are two dormer roofs, behind the wall facade, that look like one continuous roof when viewed from the side.

Hi Richard

You are absolutely right. I did not notice the lowest corners where the eves would be. I guess I am not used to seeing this older roof straight on .

Thanks for the clarification
