U-Boat Captain
« on: January 05, 2009, 20:51:39 »
Hi Playmo-seafarers,

I made a custom Captains hat from a police hat and Mighty Putty,
so I needed a Captain to wear it...

So here is the little sea-dog awaiting fair weather, and a submarine to
command.

Jimbo

Nice work, Jimbo.  Now, remind me, is there a submarine for him or is that on the stocks?

Hi Playmofire,

The sub is about 60% complete! :yup:
I am waiting for a book to come in to the book store that should
have the detailed  pics that I need to finish her up.

So far the sub is about 60" long, 12" high, and 8" wide at the
widest part of the boat.  It will be fairly simple though.

Best regards,
Jimbo

Great custom Jimbo!! But now that I know of it I am really curious to see the sub also! Will the sub have a full crew?

Ahoy Gepetto,

I'm kinda in a hurry to get the sub done.  It won't have a full crew, just a few deck hands.

My original thought was to build a complete interior of the sub, with the major compartments, but I changed my mind because of the size of the task.  There are
just too many pipes, gauges, and "sub-things" to make! 8}

But at any rate, I hope it will make the little Captain proud :yup:

Best regards,
Jimbo

Wow sounds like a dangerous adventure . What era are you shooting for  ;)
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

I must admit that I am really curious to your sub as well. Can't wait for the pics ...

Great figure! He looks a very salty sea dog.

I'm thinking of Hunt for Red October.

Just out of curiosity - have you ever seen "Das Boote", Martin?
