New animal molds are:
the large shark in Pirates - totally agree with Tahra it looks like Bruce from Finding Nemo.
In Dinosaurs a Brachiosaurus, at least a new head and neck with different articulation, and a Stygimoloch which is super cool looking and a great size. The velociraptor set has a small mammal in it. I think it may be a new mold that looks like a ferret type. It might be the baby marmot but the ears seem different.
There is a new fluffier fatter cat mold in both the pets and Princess themes. The older style German Shepherd with a bionic leg in new too of course. They just swapped one of the articulated legs with a new mold. A number of recolors in the pets, plus some cool new accessories. The Saint Bernard in the dog and owner My Life series is a return of the previous exclusive mold of Josef from the Heidi theme. In the Princess theme the Wheaton terrier previously seen only as Copernicus in the Back to the Future Advent Calendar returns in a regular set.
I think the Nessie has different color eyes, but yeah they could have done it in a new color.
Yes the Pegasus foal is a new color.
For an animal collector this is again a really busy season. 2024 is the biggest year ever for new animal variations and it looks like they are going to keep going next year. Hopefully there will be a Wiltopia release in the second half with a new biome - my wish/best guess is Asian mountains with a yak and snow leopard.
In general observations that short counter in the style of the old Western theme bar seems new? It's in a couple of the sets but I don't remember it. Would be nice to have it in brown to match the older bar.
It's pretty clear there are a couple of things happening in company planning. They are going for lower price points and not releasing the huge sets, which is a smart move right now. They are also concentrating on themes that sell well while using as few new molds as possible. Not a bad strategy when they are facing a shrinking market for these types of toys.
