Title: Expansion of medieval world
Post by: PlaymoGuardian on February 10, 2021, 03:52:41
I think it would be great for playmobil to expand their medieval world. Generally any playmobil or lego line comes out with new versions of the exact same subjects. There are new castles, new siege equipment, a new blacksmith, and new figures. I, for one, would truly appreciate new sets designed around other aspects of daily life. It might be nice to have some significant farmland and everything belonging to such an adventure with which to feed my lands and animals (of course once my newly started collection gets big enough for there to be a need for such). How about some form of monastery (this could be introduced as multi tiered to help honor various religions: monastery, mosque, etc...)? I’m certainly not asking for a privy extension to adorn the wall of a tower, but perhaps there are other directions we can travel towards. Also, as far as the battle which may or may not exist between toy manufacturers...if playmobil were to commit to such diversity in set design, they would immediately stand out in the world of toys- and I don’t think that would be bad for marketing... Any thoughts/ideas?

Medieval farm and medieval monastery would be AMAZING.

Will never be made but a big Crusades theme designed by specialist would be brilliant.

I'd really like to see medieval knights and lords with historically accurate heraldry.

Hildegard von Bingen special, anyone?

Yes I definitely agree with your additions. Crusades would be beyond epic, I believe they already have a few figures they could spin off of...I understand why perhaps they wouldn’t touch on the crusades, but I mean monastery and mosque series would be something relatively untouched (and it could even be a bit of a cross over dipping their toes in the crusades period without actually diving in)...

Good idea! A 12th Century singer-songwriter.

I would be awesome if they would release a tournament promo-pack (and some medieval citizins and farmers ;D )

I wish they'd re-issue the Jousting Set 3652 in some form - I think it's only one that had a seating area/platform (I don't know the correct term)

I would DIE if they ever released a decent looking Medieval cathedral. And I fully support a fully realized tournament!

I am sure your wallet would precede you.... And mine. I am sure the building would be gorgeous, and if a proper building.... BUY!

Even if I have no use for any churches. Then again... that pigeon loving religion makes impressive buildings too, and we do have a couple...  ;D  (still didn't find a proper large pigeon to make a statue of their deity... but..)

And I fully support a fully realized tournament!

Agree. I suppose we have no lack of the knights themselves, but everything else is now gone :(

Playmoebius does a custom 3D one that is completely unaffordable

They have lots of custom parts too if you want the piecemeal approach

... completely unaffordable...

2,500 € in fact!

2,500?.. I mean, it’s not my place to say and what does my opinion matter, but 2500?.. I’m willing to be humbled if my opinion is out of line, however, I find that price tag to be legitimately insulting. Something must be off. That is 2,500 euros correct? As in about 3000 dollars for me? Who knows maybe there is a large enough class of playmobil collectors who are all millionaires and supply a regular customer base for this fellow. If not, I mean it’s a laughable form of bad business- both in terms of creating income for your product and business ethics as far as I’m concerned. Yikes. A beautiful work of art no doubt, simply majestic...as far as my currently meager collection goes, I’m definitely trying to build up as much as I can, but the goal for this would be to one day have the potential to customize the playmobil and build with my imagination (just my goal)- I feel like if I had this set you’d have to keep it in tact just because the price tag dictates such! Thanks for the link, it is beautiful to look at, sadly it’s not even a remote consideration for me...

Oh yeah...I remember them. Curse my inadequate finances!  :'( Their Notre Dame tribute was nothing short of spectacular!

Those parts are expensive as Tartarus.. I only got a couple (not really used yet), but for most things.. well.. my wallet threatened bloody murder if I even THINK about it..

I mean, a 6 side tower?  But you'd NEED several floors. And there's a bunch of connectors per floor.. do the math. No can do. If the stupid balls cooperate, I'll make a HUGE castle with a gazillion custom parts.

The 3D thread over at KW also leaves me drooling. But I can't. 99% of those would require a bunch of parts, not one. And so.. just bought a couple of the 1% :)

It'd be cheaper to buy your own 3D printer!  :easterhop: :paddy:
