Title: The Museum Heist
Post by: Luftgaengerin on June 16, 2020, 15:52:27
Hi everyone! Here’s a project me and my youngest child did together.

I always wanted a playmobil museum, who doesn’t? But the beautiful 3449 was a bit too small for the “artwork and collectibles" I had in mind, and the new 9451 had only one floor - above all, it is not Steck, so I decided not to buy it. I had to do my own. My youngest child has some police and thieves, so we decided that he was allowed to let them - carefully - break-in.

And so it started…

THE MUSEUM HEIST

At the end of the day all visitors have left the Museum…

The curator Mr. Goldberg is about to close the museum, but only after the police officers finish their last round. Over the transceiver, police officer James checks with his assistant John if everything is as it should be: “- Routine, check. Over.”

“ - Roger. All clear! Out.”

After a short small-talk, the curator closes the museum and the three of them leave to what they think will be a regular, quiet night…

Meanwhile at the gang’s hideout, Karlchen Knack* has a master-plan. It’s a cold night, but he’s so excited, he had to take out his coat due to heavy sweating. To his right, his friend and former-pirate Butch, and the fearless Kate. Both will be performing the operation.
To his left, his partner in crime Karla Knack*, and the driver Vincenzo, the fastest in the whole west.

Karlchen has been planning for a while; today is the day!

(* = infamous on YouTube)

After discussing the operation all over again, the three leave on Vincenzo’s Quad. Karlchen and Karla Knack are too famous to show themselves near the museum, so they’ll wait at the hideout.

The master-plan knows no acrophobia, but fearless Kate doesn’t either.

Fearless Kate is of course successful and sees if the coast is clear before stepping in.

Butch is right behind her on the attic and the shiny crowns find their way into their bag.
Surprisingly, they forget to take the newest acquisition of the museum: the amazing and rare masks the greatest collector of Portugal, Queen Tahra, donated to the museum just last week.

Maybe because their main goal is the highly protected crown of Karl-August XI…

Fearless Kate is a gifted thief and cuts the glass without the alarm going off (which, btw, makes a really annoying sound).

Butch, a former-pirate who spend half his life fishing, does the rest…

…slowly but effectively.

It was not planned, but Kate likes necklaces.

She wants to try it on immediately, but it doesn’t fit over her mouth-cover, so it goes in the bag.

Of course the next crown, though less valuable, has to go too.

What is this thing? Kate has no idea, but she likes it too.

Butch lifts the heavy glass to remove the beautiful fossil…

…and takes the priceless bust of an Egyptian pharaoh. The last piece, they decide, otherwise the treasures won’t fit on Vincenzo’s Quad…

Karlchen opened a barrel of beer and they had quite a party!

…but not for long…

Karlchen found himself behind bars before he could look for his coat.

At least they are all together and now have lots of time to plan the next operation.

Butch is happy they all made it to the morning news. The newspaper had a long piece about the fishing of the crown and how his former life as a pirate made that possible.

Police officer James himself brought all the treasures back to the museum. Mr. Goldberg couldn’t be happier and shook his hand with lots of enthusiasm.

Soon visitors will arrive... It will be another regular day at the museum.

(Special thanks to the amazing artwork of Richard Unglik our curator achieved to exhibit on the museum walls)

That was awesome!

above all, it is not Steck, so I decided not to buy it.

:o  Restraint!

Love the building...

.. and those... the lighthouse "poles with chain" things  ;D  They look great like that...  (btw, great floors too - I always struggle with building interiors  :-[ )

 :-[

Great posing - love Kate climbing and then about to enter.

Surprisingly, they forget to take the newest acquisition of the museum: the amazing and rare masks the greatest collector of Portugal, Queen Tahra, donated to the museum just last week.

How... LUCKY of them - I was about to dispatch the legions...  >:D

... (which, btw, makes a really annoying sound).

:lmao: :lmao:

Butch, a former-pirate who spend half his life fishing, does the rest…

…slowly but effectively.

Another great couple of pics :wow:

LOL - I am with her on that one!

Awesome :)

Congratulate your youngest too ;)

Thank you, Tahra  :)

I like those lighthouse poles with chains a lot, but it was a struggle to fix them somehow... until I remembered the plant-pots  :) ...But as soon as I tried to put the chain on the poles, they kept falling like domino. I could only avoid that by gluing the plant-pots to the floor (a tile-motif I had, repeated many, many times, and then printed)... :cham:

Karlchen and Karla Knack were a favourite of my youngest in Germany; it's a YouTube-chanel-serie in German... He liked it so much I got them those klickys on his birthday, along with the little police-station-in-a-box. He never changed their YouTube-names. :)
I just checked, someone is translating those videos to Brazilian Portuguese... They call Karlchen Knack "Carlinho Fujão"

"I was about to dispatch the legions...  >:D " LOL! That would scare the hell out of them!  :whip:

That was such a pleasure to read! I love all the detail in every scene, the pictures on the walls, the floors, the brick walls of the prison! These things take ages to set up, I bet. A great project to do with your son too! Capital!

And it should - as you know, their commander is.... busy. And he is not the sort of man to enjoy being interrupted.  :P

Thanks, Graham :) I am happy you liked it!
I love those bricks on the wall too, they’re original from the 5421 Portable Police Station Set. I usually avoid those portable/boxes sets because they take up more space and aren’t very practical for dioramas, though they usually have great designs on the cardboards; I’m thinking of the halloween box 5368 or knights blacksmith box 5637 and others - I like their atmosphere and scenery (but not the printed playmobil-parts on walls, though)...

Yes, I remember him being extremely busy when I last saw him ;) His room has a great interior design, btw!
