So, where do PlaymoFriends buy their Playmobil ???? Do you get it online or at a store? Are you lucky enough to have a FunPark or Playmo-outlet near you ???? I get my Playmobil from Toys R Us.

i think in most cases it depends on the situation - if it's a discontinued set i go for ebay :)
stuff from the current catalog can be purchased almost at any local store no?

The online shop I guess is my favorite place to get stuff, though I probably buy just as much or more from tru and ebay. Tru has good sales, online shop had add-ons, and ebay had discontinued stuff.

Yeah... i think the only way would be down at the very bottom, there's a remove poll button, and then you could add a poll, doing it differently this time. Do you have that option? Or is it only mods, I wonder?

A great question! I buy from all of these sources depending on the item, and enjoy purchasing from each for different reasons. Cannot get everything from any one distribution channel or outlet, so it is necessary to use all of them if you collect.
If I have to choose one favorite source, it would be the local, independent toy shop because they offer so much selection and are really nice folks to do business with; they can answer most of your questions having been in the business for over 20 years just down the street from where I live. And it is so much fun watching others, especially children, mesmerized by all of the cool merchandise at Science Safari.
I find that price is not the most critical factor when i buy PM although I do pick up some on sale now and then.

when I am not annoyed at it for changing some rules when auctioning... :hmm: ;)

Yeah, can't vote just one either... Playmobil hellas does not offer an on-line transaction...yet..
So I get current sets from local toystores. Ebay is the major place for me to buy any kinds of playmobil items. and there is of course the Athens funpark, run by playmobil hellas, ;D although 480 km away, whenever I'm there, there is lots o f goodies to get, or i get them with a phonecall to them...

EVERYWHERE!!! :lol: Though I haven't been to the "Funpark"... I did go to the "Funstore" that they had in New Jersey until recently... but sadly they closed that just when I moved closer :( So, online from PM as they actually have everything and I am close enough that if I order early enough in the day I get it next day with the standard "free" shipping...

I like to buy Playmobil EVERYWHERE! (Just ask my family.) ;D
I'd even buy some at a Fun Park if there was one closer to me.
But, my favorite is probably from the Playmo website so that I can get the free gift.
(I just wish they'd switch over to the new game and stop sending the ghost pirate game.)

Interesting topic! I like to buy Playmobil at my local toy store. I usually shop for discontinued sets on eBay. And, finally I occasionally venture out of my hometown to go to other stores...

Generally ebay for me as Playmobil in Australia is mostly prohibitively expensive, however I have also purchased online from toy shops and in a department store.

I prefer to buy my new sets from a local independent store so that I feel I am supporting them. I don't like shopping in toys r us because the staff are not very helpful, last time I was nearly run over by 3 children on display bikes and they have recently reduced their Playmo stock to make room for a babies r us. ::) But sometimes it is necessary because the local shops don't stock some themes like the doll house. However, I also browse ebay daily but use it to buy discontinued sets.

It is not TRU fault that savage kids run amock without their uninterested parents' supervision. I find those more and more. I have NO patience for kids, especially wild ones. :hmm:

I tend to get used Playmo off ebay and buy from Playmobil online for new sets mainly.
I buy occasionally from our local toy shops, but the prices at one are pretty high and the other doesn't stock a great deal. Where we are the nearest Toys R Us is 2 hours drive away.

It was 2 separate points. :) When I asked them if they knew when they were getting a certain set they weren't very friendly then on a different day was the kids with bikes which I realise isn't TRU's fault but put me off all the same. We didn't stay long enough to see what the staff did.

I don't really like shopping at TRU, but I do it anyway. :lol: We don't have any independent toy shops here that carry PM. :( There are a couple that used to, but they stopped. :-\ Learning Express carries it, of course, but their prices are marked way up. So TRU is my only option for buying locally. Everything else is from ebay or directly from playmobil. I never buy from TRU online. I prefer to skip the middle man and have playmobil getting the money directly!

Speaking of place to buy PM, do we have anyone who is familiar with PM stores in the LA or Las Vegas areas? We will be staying in Santa Monica and Vegas on a business trip soon, and it would be great to know of any new or used PM stores in those areas. Cheers, Pgal :wave:
