THW sets (but the keychain :-)
« on: September 17, 2006, 10:46:13 »
Before I start: that's no complete review (solely from the fact, that I didn't bought every set, but only 4082, 4087, 4088). So anybody is invited to expand this thread.

The THW things -- as already mentioned somewhere else -- are not new. Most things, especially the vehicles are borrowed from firerescue and construction (the trailer from the farms series and the personnel carrier from the police series), but all in new color design: THW blue and white.

Also the shepherd dog, which appears in this set also in a new color variant (dark brown; 30 65 2302), the barrels which are the well-known type variant in silver, a chain saw in new colors, and the boat trailer from 3399 in white (just to mention the obvious ones).

The staff has very detailed overalls. And there are three types of helmets available borrowed from construction, the construction helmet with visor (from the lumberjack 3743) and a THW variant of the firerescue helmet.

The amount of bulk goods is just enough to fill the trailer or the loading space of the truck (which are both based on the same platform)

The hose rolls had been replaced by rolls for some thick ropes.

Ok, maybe I should have posted those first, but here are some box photos (sorry for poor quality, i.e. the JPG artefacts, but I have to finde a tradeoff between dimensions and max. allowed file size):

Many thanks indeed, Jochen, for all your time in reviewing these sets.  They really are excellent, especially the detail of the printing on the klickies.  The idea of the young THW members is great too - maybe we shall see young firefighters, too, in the future.

Thanks again.
