Title: Mozart
Post by: PMatt on October 13, 2019, 07:41:37
The always up-to-date playdalai over at AmClicks reports a new promotional figure: it's none other than W. A. Mozart, produced on behalf of the International Mozarteum Foundation.

No further details are available at the time of writing this post. The wig on its own is to kill for, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for showing! There has been a - rather confusing - discussion at KW (https://klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=72316/) (log-in required) about this figure, apparently first reported in a Salzburg newspaper of October 5th, but I haven't yet seen a picture. He is indeed gorgeous!

Best wishes

Thanks for sharing, PlaymoCollector! As someone who loves classical music, I would love to have this figure! It looks amazing! I hope someone can organise a group order, unless the figure will be available on the Belgian (and other) Playmobil website, just like Bach's figure.

They say it has a little bow printed on the back of the wig!

They seem to be keen on confusing discussions... ;)

The wig is not only beautiful but also interesting: I don't recall Geobra ever having produced a new part / mould for a commissioned figure. :sherlock: This must have made production more expensive than it otherwise would have been. I wonder for what they will sell ...

I would be both surprised and extremely disappointed if this wig were not to show up in any regular sets in the future.

That sounds like a neat little detail, though I can't quite figure out how it would look, unless the bow is part of the mould.

The planeta series has a Mozart in it, which shows up on ebay for about twenty bucks usually (I got an unpackaged one without violin for much less). That new Mozart looks MUCH better.

That hope I share. But let's emphasise again that a new mould has been used here - valuable objects as we all know. Other historical figures never involve more than running the machines with existing moulds and then printing some parts with a specially commissioned design - for which just a new bit of software is required, certainly no new machine components. I still find it intriguing.

That means nothing to the Brandstätters. Bach - yes, perhaps even Brahms. But I cannot believe there is a lot of affection for that catholic in the firm.

Well, it seems it meant something to them this time. Now I'm hoping they'll do a Beethoven in the future as well (or other composers)! If they created a new hair piece for Mozart, then Beethoven definitely deserves a unique hair piece as well! I can imagine it right away ;D

Having been to Saltzburg earlier in the year, the Mozart industry seems to be thriving. Maybe they're expecting big sales - big enough to justify a new hair mould, anyway.

Also, I know you'd logically think they'd avoid new parts, they often seem to create new pieces for no real reason.

Another very interesting figure
They really are releasing historical exclusives at a high tempo these days!

They say it has a little bow printed on the back of the wig!

I don´t believe it will be a printed bow at the back of the wig. Imho it is more probable it will be a clip-on bow, like e.g.:

Hadoque is right: the bow is clipped on. Here a detail from the Österreichischer Rundfunk (https://salzburg.orf.at/stories/3017868/):

Price is 3,99 € and 50,000 Mozarts have been produced.

It will be on sale in the German Playmobil web shop from November 4th. Other web shops might follow suit. :yup:

But I do offer to send out a few alongside the Friedrichs. Not a proper group order, though. :-[

Ok.. we will see then - it would be a lot easier (and cheaper) for most of us if he was available at the playmostores..

Thank you :)

I didn´t participate in the group-order for Friedrich III, so that means I can´t ask for some Mozarts?  :-\

Let's wait for November 4th. If Mozart doesn't show up at Playmobil Benelux, then I would be more than happy to order some more for you, or Tahra, or whoever else. A sort of group order might thus come about after all. 8}

Yes, and after I asked they added that he will also become available in ALL official online stores (so not just the German one).

Yeah!! Really hard to find it!! (Answer if you are joke)

If you means illegal orders, isn't this case. I've purchased in Mozarthaus site.

You thinking of selling the other 8 boxed Mozart’s ?

You can get 10 units directly from Mozarthaus webpage. 9 in playmobil sites. Good chance for shared orders.

Greetings

I bought them for fellow Playmofriends as an appendix to a collective order running at this very site (https://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=17029.0/) (I'm not sure whether you already have permission to access that section).

Best wishes

Dont worry. "Roma no se construyó en un día = Rome was not builded in a single day"

I'm a new arrival here. I understand

But, i have already my Mozart.

My order from the Mozarteum in Salzburg arrived already a week ago, so they were shipped & arrived before the official release date.
I unboxed 2 of them.
When I removed the wigs from the klickies, I discovered both Mozarts have a key-chain head (so without the chain, and no hole in the wig). Is that the case with other people´s ones as well?

I didn't take the wig off! I'll check it out later. Thanks for the warning. Another curiosity.
